How long does finasteride lower DHT for after stopping the drug?

I have read various things about this haven't made sense to me. If someone takes propecia for say 2 years and then stops - how long would their DHT be lowered for? I have read that because finasteride has a long half life, it could suppress DHT for quite some time after stopping?

A single dose lowers DHT significantly for 4 days (and a little bit for another 2 days, until production has caught up completely again). After continued use over several months, DHT should be back to normal after 2 weeks.
