well in the morning after having a shower and towel drying my hair, i put some minoxidil liquid on my scalp, but some of it gets in my hair and dosent look good at all.

usualy i put the minoxidil on first, then to give it time to dry up i brush my teeth, shave, and apply acne solutions (proactive) on my face (usualy takes about 2-3 mins). Then i towel dry my hair so it will look normal again.

after doing this for awhile im starting to worry if im getting the minoxidil off of my scalp as well as my hair, do you think this could be the case?

so far ive been on minoxidil and propecia for a month (and nizoral shampoo for about a week), and when i applied minoxidil before i would end up having some hair on my fingers but recently i havent had many or any on my fingers, im not sure if its working because being only a month i cant see any results.

am i drying the minoxidil off of my scalp as well as out of my hair?
If i am then how long shoul i leave the minoxidil in my hair/scalp before i dry my hair off and how should i dry off my hair if using a towel will take the minoxidil thats on my scalp?

The instructions say your scalp has to be dry when you apply the minoxidil. Maybe you can wash your hair, blow it dry, then apply minoxidil.

The minoxidil takes hours to dry, so yeah you are likely taking some off when you towel your hair dry.

Putting minoxidil on a wet scalp can increase absorption in to the bloodstream and cause adverse effects.

I blow dry it and walk around a minute, then apply. I use Dr. Lee's minoxidil, so it drys fairly quickly.

you have to let minoxidil dry naturally... Why don't you apply minoxidil the last thing and then walk out? That way you give your hair 5-10 mins to dry and you still have minoxidil solution in your scalp...

Please clarify. minoxidil liquid should be applied to a dry scalp? I was applying it to a damp scalp because I thought increased aborbtion was good? How long should it take to dry (5% Kirkland) and I assume the liquid should be colourless (mine is)? Thanks.

Most of the info I've seen states that we should avoid washing the hair within the first 4 hours after applying minoxidil. So let the scalp dry naturally for 4 hours. Most of the minoxidil is absorbed within the first one hour, but absorption will continue for upto 4 hours.

As for the damp vs dry, I think you are right. Damp scalp would have higher absorption rate.
