Dont they say though wearing tight hats or braids can cause male pattern baldness? Or itching your head too hard, or pulling out hairs? These things would cause hair growth then and not hair loss?
Lol none of that can cause male pattern baldness, some of it can cause hair loss.

Well, if you pluck a telogen hair, it will go into anagen faster than it would otherwise but really just replace the plucked hair. So no net gain.

That's called "traction alopecia" as I recall. A temporary hell.

Compared to male pattern baldness's permanent hell.

This may seem like science-fiction but is less so than thinking that Tsuji's will be out in 2020.

All treatments are flawed because they don't stop hair loss from progressing, cloning DHT resistant follicles is really the only true cure.

I read these hopeful-titled threads, and by the end it's just more of "hopefully by X date", which is always years away! UGH, just when I think I'm out....

Yep. And time is running out for some of us older guys. Ironically, when I'm in my grave, what little hair I did have will still be on me, waiting, on my decomposed body, and the hope passing into oblivion.

Isn't that essentially what he's doing? I have retrograde bad I've been lazy and haven't shaved my head in a month and I looked in the mirror this morning and I look diseased lol. I don't even know if cloning will help out in this situation who knows what hairs are resistant.

Any known research into the genetics of what makes some follicles resistant? Since it is possible now to modify genetics, why not target this in conjunction with cultured cells? Basic foundation needs to be tackled and tackled hard.

That is way further ahead than tsuji. While I am skeptical that tsuji will come in 2020 he already has a working model. We are very far away to creating what you said.

I don't believe the second part. If we understand what makes some peoples follicles dht resistant maybe we can replicate that. IIRC brotzu being a vascular surgeon believed (at least in the begining) that hairloss is mainly a circulation problem. Fullheads have better circulation hence why they keep their hair. To put it simply better circulation means that dht and all other things which cause your follicles to shrink don't have that effect on you, or with better circulation come other things which makes your hair less susceptible to dht like more oxygen or something.(this is purely speculative btw). Makes sense in a way to me considering that to most Androgenetic Alopecia sufferers it's the hair in the top of the scalp who usually falls and it isn't strange to think that blood has a tougher job to get at the top of the scalp in confront with other areas. This is only a halfassed theory, but I said it just to show that making your current hair immune is not an unthinkable idea. Maybe tsuji will come before this so it won't be needed who knows.

And now I have an idea, some brave soul should try to experiment in staying upside down for some months and see if there is any regrowth.

We don't NEED a permanent genetic cure for hair loss. We just need a practical treatment method. We've never had anything close to it.

A practical method does not cost too much, it doesn't force you into a big inconvenient regimen, it doesn't do things like limping your dick . . . and it brings back enough lost hair to make an impact.

We don't NEED a permanent genetic cure for hair loss. We just need a practical treatment method. We've never had anything close to it.

A practical method does not cost too much, it doesn't force you into a big inconvenient regimen, it doesn't do things like limping your dick . . . and it brings back enough lost hair to make an impact.

Bad breath, yellow teeth, and body odors actually have treatments/procedures that fixes the issue temporarily or even permanently. All can be treated very effectively both non surgically or surgically with no side effects.

Hair loss affects far more people and treatments Available barely has any effects and have potentially permanent side effects.

The main difference between fullheads and us is genetics. And the kinds of genes that make you bald on top of your head are, for the most part, the kinds of genes that give you a unibrow (or not), or control the thickness of your eyebrows. Many of them are the same kinds of genes that, in the very rare cases that they're fully mutated, will make you totally bald, give you peach fuzz all over your body, or even make you a circus freak with thick terminal hair covering all of your face. Some of the genes are also responsible for major differences in hair growth in other mammals. These are internal hair follicle genes and have nothing to do with blood flow. Besides, your "half-assed theory" was already debunked a long time ago.


Synchronous balding of scalp and hair-bearing grafts of scalp transplanted to the skin of the arm in male pattern baldness


The author transplanted composite skin grafts from balding, non-balding, and bald areas of the scalp, to the skin of the arm. The galea aponeurotica was trimmed away from the grafts. It might be entirely unnecessary if drugs can be used to affect gene transcriptions producing proteins, enzymes or whatever. A drug compound might be the most elegant solution. Breakthroughs in science sometimes happen when doing things in different ways with unpredictable results.

Yes, indeed. In physics, studies in light diffraction and well known behavior of electromagnetic properties, compounded with other observations, lead to the theory of relativity. I'm hoping that guy, like Einstein, is alive today working in genetics.
