How Long Until A "cure" Or Full Reversal Treatment?

But really, even with a Company like Shesheido working on trials, why is the future so dismal for all of us.

I thought "oh good, such a huge company in Japan working on this... It may hold promise" and yet I can't find any respectable source of info making more than a passing mention. It's relegated to media hype and hair loss forums.

I even searched through Spencer Kobren's bald truth radio show, and there's no mention at all!!
He mentions that he's been hearing for years that a cure is 'just around the corner' and nothing has come out so far.

Shiseido would be a functional cure for some who don't have a lot of thinning or can be covered with transplants but if ol Tsuj doesn't make it I don't think we'll have anything for a reversal in our time. Gene editing isnt going to poof you back to a full head that's if they even offer gene editing for strictly hair. I don't like being a Debby but to me I'm trying to be realistic.

Why not? have you never seen an animal regrowing fur after a big wound? And that is way beyond human's hair density. Technology is moving fast. People who claim that we won't have cure in 30 years or our lifetimes are just uneducated..

Do you really believe that we as a society are going to cut out "faulty" gens in a few years? That is highly theoretical and experimental genetic engineering. It will take 50 years for an official methodologically sound product to emerge on the mass markets... we will be old or dead then.

Technology is moving fast. People who claim that we won't have cure in 30 years or our lifetimes are just uneducated..

A cure probably won't come for a while. one single event to cure hairloss (whether that is a procedure like tsuji, gene editing, etc) is probably something like 7-10 years away. BUT, new TREATMENTS that will most likely help to recover one, two, maybe even three norwoods look likely to succeed within the next few years. You have shisiedo, follica, fevipiprant, and the broztu lotion which are all set to be released either in 2018 or 2019. Even with unexpected delays, this is relatively soon. A full "cure" or reverasal of hairloss to bring a NW7 back to a 1 seems likely (to me) to be out in under 10 years. With that being said, this thread is kind of redundant because for many people these new treatments will be a cure. So in the meantime hang on to what you have with current treatments and ride this out because this sh*t storm of a disease will be over sooner than we know it. I really hope this is true. Right now I'm still making gains with treatments, so if I can just hold on another 5 years hopefully a new treatment that's effective will be out. Crossing my fingers.
