Yeah, he's a super cool dude. Cracks me up constantly!

I'm losing it in my Dad's pattern, and he is about an NW6 now. My Grandpa doesn't have it, nor did my Great-Grandfather when he came here from Germany. Wonder what happened to me and my Dad?

Native Americans are so stoic they make the ancient Romans look like they have ADHD. :D
Not trying to stereotype, it's the honest to God truth....with exceptions of course.

Yeah, I'm actually in Oklahoma City! He's the only Indonesian I've ever met, his name is Umar...doesn't sound Indonesian but he is haha.

My Dad started with a bald spot, I remember him complaining about it when I was little. Then it crept forward until it got him all over. He receded a bit too.

Hard to tell for me, I started with a thin spot but I've lost a lot of density on top. I have good coverage and most people don't know but I imagine losing density is diffuse. Not much texture change though.

I'm about an Norwood 2 as far as hairline goes.

Where are you in California? OKC has a vendetta on LA right now after Artest's (I mean Metta's) little stint last night. lol

Yeah, diffusing sucks! Im starting to get some good density all over now though, it hardly looks like Im losing as opposed to when i had short hair. We get it good because we respond well to the big 3 but we have it bad because our loss leads to the horseshoe pattern haha.

Yeah, he's muslim. We used to have very good talks about our different faiths. He's a real stand-up guy, he usually fixes my car for a good discount too.

When some of you say "i know a few people in my college/work", please give an approximative %, they could be few in 30 people like they could be few in 3000. Not exactly the same thing

My apologies. Out of the 10,000 or more people on campus I am conducting research, including interviews and analysis of each individual student determining the level of their hair loss...if any. Once I determine my findings and find out exact percentages, I shall report my findings to you immediately.

^^ LOL

Out of the 120 or so guys employed at my company, (of which about 80% are aged 20 -40) I'd say at least 20% have a decent degree of hairloss ie at least NW4+, and probably another 20% have mild hairloss ie NW3.
Only about 15% are full NW1's.
So basicly about 45% of the guys are NW2 and of the rest the majority have some degree of noticible hairloss.
I'd say over the age of 40 NW6's are definitley more common than NW1's.

s.a.f. you think it would be accurate to say most at your workplace were nw2s to nw4?

Yes nearly all the young guys are NW2 and most of the older ones (45+) who have'nt gone bald are probably NW3's, but if you average it out to include the baldies then I'd say the average guy is NW2-4.

If you have early on set aggressive balding resulting in being completely bald during your twenties then your kind is rare enough to make you feel like a freak of nature. That is the point.

Thats about 1/10 men. Hardly 'freak of nature' statistics.

So you didn't feel at all "different" being a 23 year old nw5 when all your mates around you had hair? I recall you saying that it did indeed make you feel that way.

Of course I felt different being in such a minority, but the the phrase 'Freak of nature'?
Someone who is 5'5" is probably rarer than being a NW6 and I would'nt describe them as a FREAK. :freak:

There is this 19-20 years old guy that is going to my university, and he's literally looking like a kid. Max 13 years. He's short like a kid, and totally looks like a kid. I mean, if I haven't seen him attending on the classes, I wouldn't even think he could be 19-20. He's sticking out from all guys at the university.

Now that's what I would call freak of nature.

Not if they are in their 20s.

Read my previous post, guys who go bald in their 20's are minimum 1/10. If thats a freak then all guys over 6'3" or guys with beards or guys with long hair are also FREAKS.

Regardless of statistics, regardless of common knowledge, when you are the only one out of all the people your friends with who is bald then you would FEEL like a freak. Emotions play a big part of our perception of things.

So a black guy working in an office full of whites should feel like a freak?

You might not think so until you see how excited he gets when he hears his company just hired another black person... truth is he knows he isn't the only black man on earth but that doesn't make the reality of his immediate situation an less uncomfortable. Just the other day I was talking to a black employee and he was talking about how "We're four deep now"... so obviously it is important enough for him to keep count.

Yes but I bet he still would'nt say he felt like a freak when it was just him.

So am I, at least 10% of men in their 20's can expect to go fully bald ie NW6.
If you want to include balding guys aswell that takes it to abot 30 - 40%.
