I know finasteride is mainly to preserve hair, but doo you guys think gains like these are like 1 in 5000 men? Or that most users don't come on forums or post?

Thanks!

Re: In in 5000 men with GREAT success stories?

I'm not sure I quite understand your poll, but I have no doubt that results like that are quite common and we just never hear about it because 99.9% of men treating their hair loss do not post on internet forums. Internet forums are full of non-responders and guys with side effects. You will never get an accurate statistic regarding the effectiveness of treatments by browsing forums looking for success stories.

I think the choices in your poll are ridiculously off base.

Re: How many men expect significant REgrowth?

Yeah sorry that was a bit illiterate at first, I rephrased everything.

And no, I don't think my numbers are out of proportion. I do agree a lot of guys come online, but 99% of men? Now that's off base.

Did you have significant results or something?

I said 99% of men on treatments don't post on internet forums. You're saying that is off base? I really don't think so.

Yes, I believe your numbers are out of proportion if you're trying to say that only 1/1000 men see significant results. You might not find too many success stories on the internet, but I've already explained why that is. I'm not saying that people are growing full heads of hair from slick bald heads, but I've seen dozens of posters on this forum over the years with amazing results from a finasteride/minoxidil cocktail. We just never hear about the thousands of others having the same success because they do not post on these forums.

Fair enough, but I still feel 99 is a bold percentage.

Anyways lmao at the arbitrary poll, although if millions of men are on finasteride for hairloss then one in every 1000 isn't too far fetched.

if by DRASTIC REGROWTH you mean 1-2 Norwood levels, then I'm sure the number is much much higher.... 1 in 100 would be realistic

Are you comprehending what I'm saying? Because it sounds like you don't. I'm saying that 99% of men using finasteride and minoxidil DO NOT COME TO HAIR LOSS FORUMS AND POST. I'm not saying that 99% of men have drastic regrowth.

You're trying to say that only .1% of users (or less) of finasteride and minoxidil experience drastic regrowth. Have you actually ever read any of the clinical studies or looked at any of the graphs posted here? If you have then you would know your figures are way off base.

Anyway, believe what you want. I really don't care enough to argue with you.

I know of 4 people who have seen drastic results with propecia and none of them go on the internet. Most people go to their doctor and the doctor prescribes it for them. The only people who spend time on the internet are the ones who are postponing real solutions until it's too late or those not getting results which are minimum. I postponed getting on propecia because of scare tactics and am glad I got on it.

I understand, my lack of concern made me misinterpret what you said.

Bottom line,

if you think much less than 1 in 500 men experience major regrowth, like the pictures I posted, then you are suffering from delusions of grandeur.

What are you talking about? I don't think that less than 1 in 500 men experience major regrowth---- I think ALOT of men experience major regrowth. Do you have any clue what you're posting because you don't make much sense. I've been on this forum for years and I've seen many pictures of great regrowth from many, many users. You are basing your opinions on absolutely nothing. Take a look at the clinical trials for propecia and minoxidil and you'll see the change in hair counts for users.

Off the top of my head I think studies have shown that something in the neighborhood of 25% of users see fairly large quantities of regrowth.

Checking info:
"The AHLA cites in-depth results from clinical trials, noting that 86 percent of men taking Propecia reported that it stopped hair loss, and 65 percent of men noted substantial hair regrowth".

I can't see your link, but 65% seeing substantial regrowth would tell me that your poll numbers must be very low.

Too lazy to look up the study but my understanding is that after 5 years even more got substantial regrowth as they were slower responders.

Problem is too many people wait till it's too late to get on propecia. You need your hair follicle to at least be in a very miniaturized state. Guys read about how bad propecia is and keep postponing and styling their hair to cover it up. Before they know it they can't style it anymore to cover it up. By then it could have gotten to a point where the hair follicle is dead and you just won't recover it.
