It would be really nice to hear some positives. When you search propecia reviews they seem really negative..

*raises hand*

I'm 8 Months in, I did notice some sides in the beginning but can't say I notice much now.. watery semen is prob the most evident side that actually stuck with me. Volume is still on point though

How is both of your guys' hair? People in this thread should also say how well finasteride works for them.

I'm on finastride for two month the I have got watery semen, but everthing else is fine the hair still I have to see after six month at least to see if it's really work for me, but I think shedding have decrease.
Something weird I have noticed since I got on Finasteride, I keep dreaming every night, when I wasn't on Finasteride I barely dream it doesn't bother me but I think it's weird side effect.
Anyone have got that?

^Are you maintaining/regrowing?

It's just two month. Nothing to see in either direction. I imagine less shedding, but it's likely confirmation bias.

2 years and 2 month : 17 month on 1 mg without any sides and also any effect .
tried 5 mg for few months ; got gyno and ED .

Now back on 1 mg with slight puffy nipples and increased sensitivity to finasteride sides ( strange because before it was like takng a sugar pill) . Still no effect on my hair .
, that sucks

Hey Grasshüpfer are you using alpicort F?
Does it work for you, what the possible side effects?
Where did you get it?

I did an hormone level test before finasteride and found out that my estrogen is too low. Therefore I took alpicort to raise my e2 a bit. I'm getting sides from it though. I had a slight allergic reaction on the prednisolone.
As low e2 can trigger hairloss i might have two different reasons for hair loss on top of each other. I might start very very low dose estrogel and see what happens.

60-80% of finasteride users have good results. Therefore the best plan is to start finasteride and just forget about it for a year and then check back. If you are not maintaining after a year, you can add dutasteride or progesterone.

Obviously male pattern baldness is hormone related, that's why blocking dht works. But apparently the reaction of testosterone and estrogen on the dht block also plays a role.

finasteride raises testo and estrogen, progesterone lowers dht and estrogen.

From alpicort you will get an allergic reaction at some point, because it's cortisone after all and estrogen without progesterone usually lowers testosterone which causes the same side effects as finasteride.

But apparently for some it works. :D

I have been taking it for exactly 2.5 years today. No sides, just good hair.

They are negative for a reason...

You hear more negative reviews than positive because people with negative experiences are more likely to speak up. To be honest, I've seen more positive experiences than negative.

Also, finasteride isn't a miracle cure for hairloss, No one is going to say "omg finasteride is awesome!" when it's used for maintenance at best for most people, and everyone wishes there was a better treatment.

No sides here.

Been on 0.25mg daily for about 4 months. No sides to report, apart from slightly watery semen. Took finasteride for 3 weeks 8 years ago and stopped getting morning woods. I believe my libido and quality of erections are now somewhat better after taking finasteride again( still rarely wake up with a morning wood, though, and almost never get spontaneous erections)
