How much does your hair loss honestly bother you?

It's weird -- for me it varies every day. Some days it rarely crosses my mind, and if it does, I can almost laugh it off and say, "Eh, no big deal."

Other days I find it consumes me a hell of a lot more. I find I can sometimes be very self conscious about it, especially when I am around family members I haven't seen in a while.

Hairloss use to consume me. Frankly, I was embarrassed and ashamed. I couldnt imagine losing my hair and the thought really scared me.

When I first started treatments I was impatient and finiky. Every "panic post" and "ignorant post" scared me. I yo yo"ed" back and forth before I was like, "f*ck it".

I just stuck with treatments knowing I was doing everything I could. I figured if my routine couldnt save my hair, nothing would so worrying was useless.

Eventually my hair got better.. First it got worse... Then it got better... Slowly I noticed small improvements which just built momentum until I reached a point where, while not perfect, I felt calm and confident knowing I very well might have got a handle on this thing before it was too late.. I just kept thinking positive and looking at what I did have rather then what I didnt.

Hairloss is still on my mind but I find helping others on hairloss forums to be extremely rewarding. It takes my mind off of me... Not to mention helps reinforce the "facts" that help counter those bouts of "panic" that we all get from time to time.

It bothers me quite alot. It's on my mind constantly and I find myself constantly checking out the hair of other people.

I even purposely sit in the back of a room or class so that no one can stare at my thinning crown from behind.

I've also noticed that some of my friends, who I would've never thought were losing their hair before my male pattern baldness started, are indeed thinning quite badly.

weird..

It's never bothered me that much. Some days I think about it more than others. But in general i don't really care anymore. The main reason is that it's been such a slow slow progression over the years. if however it had happened in the space of one year then i could understand i could really hurt someone.

I hear you on this one.

I sometimes find myself a bit self conscious to turn my back toward people because my hair is thinning a bit in the back.

While I was in denial, my hairloss didn't bother me really, but as soon as I decided to accept who/what I was it became a massive priority.

Bugs me a little, but it does not consume me. I would like to improve it, but it's not that bad anyway. I hope proscar will thicken up my thinning in the back. If not, I'll get hair transplant. Dermatch makes it perfect in the meantime - I don't use it everyday. Just on dates!

It doesn't bother me like it used to that's for sure. But, although my treatment option is helping me to keep the hair that I have and also to help some of my vellus hairs to pigment, on a very windy and wet day, I'm aware. It's due to the fact that I have fine hair not a lack for the treatment that I'm using:)

It does bother me. But then i think, hey its not the end of the world. I mean i got a lot of friends with shaved heads who are not bald and look fine. Most people do. If you went bald yourself and didnt choose to then of course your going to think it looks crap. But in actually fact it does'nt. So guys it isnt the end of the world. Aslong as you've got friends and family, who cares?

you'd probably notice you are bothered more by your hairloss on bad days than good. Its all psychological. If your car broke down in the middle of nowhere and you glance at the rear view and see your thinning it would impact you more emotionally where as if you just screwed Jessica Alba in the back of your car in the middle of nowhere and glanced at the rear view you wouldn't give a s***.

Its all about attitude. Some people attribute their hairloss to any and all aspects of their life girls/work/ect but in doing so miss the underlying issues.

If they had the hair they would then find something else to blame it on. Obviously I would like to save my hair, but if it goes, when it's all said and done and the smoke clears, THE ONLY WAY HAIRLOSS CAN EFFECT ME IS IF I LET IT. The only cure for male pattern baldness at this time is SELF CONFIDENCE 100% (pat self on back 3-5X daily) If you dont think your special I wont think your special. If you are in a wheelchair and depressed I may pity you, if you are in a wheelchair and joking I may admire you. You make the choice.

ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change the past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our Attitudes."
