i think i probably shed a little more than 100 a day right now. i'm not on or using anything. my crown is starting to show a little and i've always had very fine hair. i'm planning on starting rogaine, but i'm very worried about the first 3 months of added hairloss from using it. how noticeable is the added sheding? i don't really care if only i notice it, but will other people like coworkers be able to notice the extra hairloss?

I am a NW3 diffuse thinner and I've been using Rogaine for the last 6 months. I immediately noticed shedding during the first weeks of using Rogaine and this peak spiked(~100 hairs) at around the 1 month mark when I've noticed some vellus hair sprouting. This first initial shed wave lasted well into the 3rd month when overall thickening made a visible difference on my hair. At about the 4 month mark however, shedding have continued, and this time it came back with a vengeance, I now shed about 40 to 50 hairs everytime I shower and a lot of these hairs I am shedding now seem to be recent malnutrition hairs I've gained on Rogaine. I still continue the treatment twice a day, everyday like a clockwork. I've no photos so you'll just have to take my word for it. Hope this helps, good luck!

are you the only one that notice the shedding or other people can tell when they look at your hair?

I noticed the shedding only BUT... I must also stress I was very bald to begin with(NW5) and I felt like I had nothing left to loose when I begin the treatment. My advise is if you still have a full head of hair, chances are Rogaine during their first months of treatment will knock out a lot of your hair. If you are in fear that the hair you lost on Rogaine cannot be recoverable. Try other maintenance products such as S5 which is so recommended by others on this forum.

With Rogaine, I'd say I progressed to a very diffused NW3. Although my scalp still visibly "shine" to onlookers, I'd say Rogaine has worked for me. You have to be emotionally prepared to accept the fact that it's not a miracle drug! Also, it's not going to help you recover all of your hair. Best of luck!
