Tell me honestly how much i should be worrying about my hair. I stress over it day in and day out... which shits me... im sure alot of you can relate to these feelings. Plus theres not enough pics up on the forum to guage how we all are... so i thought id put something up as i wanted to see other peoples pics from day 1. Maybe others can do the same?

Putting these pics up and hearing your comments might make me feel worse, it might make me feel better... i dunno... perhaps i souldn't have even done it! These are taken with product in it obviously... but i guess i would like to get an idea on weather or not my obsession over how my hair looks is justified or not. So i got a "How much should i worry Poll" going. Whew... this could be scary...

How many of you guys are in the same boat as me as far as male pattern baldness progression goes? Any comments are greatly appreciated... im 25. The last pic (bottom) was taken before i started any treatments, that shot was around early 2002, late 2001...

You have thick hair. Can't really see signs of male pattern baldness..

You would be better of posting pics where we can see your hairline. Your hair looks good and male pattern baldness might be a problem in the future, might not. Keep your eyes on your hairline from now on.

I have to agree with Deaner here. The last pic, the front of your hair looks a little thin to me. Could be the way you style it though.

You need to go on propecia and minoxidil immediately. Also, see if you can add procerin to your regimen.

Your hair looks good and you shouldn't worry too much about it. However, if you think you're losing your hair I trust your observation and you might be ever so slightly. Having said that, I would get off minoxidil, as this should be saved for when you need to regrow more hair. Also, consider lowering your dose of Propecia so that the drug will have an effect when you actually need it.

looks a tiny bit thin up front. not bad at all though, without looking at it and trying to see thinning i doubt anyone notices any. i would wear it shorter as i think someone suggested. and if you feel that your regimen is regrowing and maintaining stick with it. but i wouldn't worry about it. i would say i have a little less hair than you and i worried about it alot for a while. but now i cut it shorter it looks good and i don't really worry much anymore.

Cheers for the replys guys. I suppose the photos dont do me full justice as my actual hairline isnt so visible here by the way i style it... its pretty thin though throughout and im definately heading backwards. I have been on Proscar for three years and now add minoxidil on the very front of my hairline... almost a test really to analyse how its potentially going to work. Regrowing... im a little worried about ading it throughout the entire hairline for the dreaded shed... was applying fully for about 6 weeks and it thinned out like a b**ch... so thats why i layed off to just the front.... like 5mm in.

Might consider reducing the finasteride intake as i have a bit of a feeling its becoming less effective. But i did stop for about 3-4 months around 3 months ago... trust me guys, dont do it!

Whoever asked... its V05 Reworkable Putty "Extreme" that i use. Its the sh*t... and really the only thing that makes me slightly happy when i style it.

Your hair is looking fine to me... I too am a little hesitant to add Minoxidil throughout the entire hairline because of the shed I know that I will have.

And dont you think you should up the dosage of finasteride instead of lower it if you feel its becoming less effective after three years. Maybe you should try a 1/2 Proscar or something if your not having any side effects.

Either way your hair looks fine and you shouldnt sweat it too much.

Matey,

Aside from the fact that it looks like someones spanked their jizz in your hair, it looks fine to me. You should be able to maintain what you have until that radical breakthrough we have all been waiting for.

cheers.

Im convinced my actual density has been considerably increased from back about three years ago... might as well chuck this pic from early2002 when i was quite dark about my hair and went to the Doctor not long after. It shorter but you can still get the idea... it looks pretty bad. This i guess might give some of you a bit of hope for sticking with finasteride, Proscar, Propecia... whatever, for a good three years. Dont get me wrong... im still thin generally and perhaps receeding a little on the temples, but i blame that on the fact that i stopped for 3(ish) months at the start of the year... stupid.

Melb's edit your first post on this thread and add this link so we have somthing to compare it to. There is definately a great difference between your hair three years ago and today(positive results of course). Also I would have to say your hair as of today looks great. I don't see any thinning. I understand your situation because my thinning is unnoticable to everyone else but i know for a fact I have male pattern baldness... I'm just lucky to have caught it early and to have taken action early.

Oh please! Obviously nohairnodandruff, you can't be serious.

Melbs, I would say that hairloss in your case is a figment of the mind's eye, no less and no more. If you've got a problem with male pattern baldness then I've got a problem with thick hair :hairy: Well, how I wish that were true:) But gentically I've got fine hair so that won't happen.
