haha hey man!!!

yeah i did, i went to a doctor and she said im balding and you cant help it and gave me baby shampoo WTF my parents think im crazy that im trying to fix it!

then i went to a doctor again and he said it was from inflamation, so he gave me a prescription cream and then i went back a month later. he said the inflamation has cleared and that it should thicken up! if not he will refer me to a derm

now, its been 2 months since then, no more red hot scalp.

Been using nizoral 1% once a week and revita twice a week, taking toco 8 (vitamin e) and drinking tea heaps. I never notice hair shedding so im not sure if my hair is growing back but it doesnt really look any differnt, just not inflamed

Im only 16 and i need to fix this, i cant date girls because if they found out or my hair keeps thinning they will think im mad!

BTW im always tired haha idk what its from blood tests came back normal

My dad understands, he is 50 and freaks out when he thinks he is balding his hair is 10 times as thick as mine,

My mum thinks I'm crazy, because the first doctoe said its genetics and you can't do it. We had a big fight when I told her I'm looking into treatments, she told me there is no treatment and I was shot down. This was when my scalp was hot and sore , 3 months passed and I begged her to go to a different Doctor.

This Doctor helped clear up the inflamation and I'm due to see him in 4 weeks

If he thinks we are losing the battle I will be seen by a Derm.
He said there will be "expensive bit effective treatments". Any ideas?

If I get diagnosed with male pattern baldness il prob use minoxidil to thicken up then taper to everyotherday

I think you were right to get your scalp looked at if it was hot and sore.

I would guess the derm will probably tell you about minoxidil and finasteride. I would hope he wouldn't prescribe finasteride at your age. Both of those items are expensive locally. Let us know what the derm recommends.

You should see regrowth with minoxidil, but after a year it's effectiveness will likely wear off without something like finasteride blocking DHT.

the thing is i remember it being hot and sore since 3 years back, thid is why the doctor thinks i dont have male pattern baldness because my genetics is a receding hairline and im diffuse

his theory is the inflamation caused and it since its gone it will thicken,

people can maintain with minoxidil for 8+ years

do you know what curcumin resv does? i heard people got sides from it

toco 8 is nice

revita is so much better than nizoral

There is very little first hand experience on curcumin and resv combo, so I don't know much about it. I haven't heard of anyone getting sides, maybe if they are taking a really high dosage.

I believe in the genetics of male pattern baldness, and I think it plays a huge role. Something is passed down generation to generation. However it doesn't mean that male pattern baldness will be the same at the same age and pattern from generation to generation.

I'm sure I have better hair than my Dad at the same age, no idea about his dad, however my Mum side is rock solid for hair as far as I am aware. My hair was wavy a lot like my older half brother (+10 years), but he also has curly hair. I had some curls but I don't think as much as his. My hair has straighten over the years unlike his, his remains curly.

There is more to it than genetics, something kicks it in.

i feel like, if its male pattern baldness i have caught it while i still have a full head of hair, like i have said people dont notice it as of yet, id like to keep it that way

i have no bald spots just thinning, i just need to maintain and thicken for 5+ years

well. things seem to have got worse, scalp is very good, no noticiable shedding and when i do see shed hairs they are thick and straight (hair on sides is thick and curly, sign of miniturization?)

the vertex is starting to look very thin when parted, however when i comb it i can make it pretty much un noticable, might just go to the doctor soon and tell him its getting worse :(

if its male pattern baldness im gonna be on minoxidil which wont work unless i inhibit DHT which wll kill me?

WHAT DO I DO LIFE SUCKS i feel like this is my chance to save my hair while it still is thick enough

Those thick hairs should regrow. They may regrow weaker though :(

I don't know what to make of minoxidil some say it works without finasteride. Its worth ago.

How could this happen? what treatment should i take as i am only 16?

I saw a doctor and he gave me meds for inflamation, and that cleared that up

PLease help

That looks more like temporary hair loss from getting a sunburn on the top of your head.

Not saying you don't or won't have male pattern baldness, but it happening that fast is very uncommon.

sunburn? lol

The Australian sun (where I live) is very strong stuff.

It happened to me back when I was around 19. Got a long ferry ride, sat outside in the sun, burned the top of my head (through my hair, still had lots back then), and had a temporary loss of hair.

Went to see a dermatologist, he said it was shock loss due to sun burn, and it would grow back. It did.

Then actual male pattern baldness kicked in a few years later. No connection.

Just don't get on any strong meds like finasteride or minoxidil for at least a few years.

It sounds like minoxidil by itself might work or at least in some people. I am so confused about minoxidil on it's own.

Why wait a few years ? If this isn't male pattern baldness (sunburn or something else), it should grow back quickly.
