I've been using minoxidil for a total of 1 full year now. 6 months through i had decided to use it once a day. Didnt notice much of a difference so i continued with once a day. It is now 3 months and a bit that i am on finasteride and have noticed i have very little hair fall now, and i have no problems with sides. My question is, since i havent seen any cosmetic improvement from minoxidil and i managed to half my dosage with no problems, would you guys think that me quitting it completely will have only a minor effect on my hairloss? I hope to quit and pick it back up again in a couple years when finasteride loses its efficacy. what do you guys think?

Once a day is almost as effective as twice a day. Not much difference really. Quitting may result in hair loss, or it may make little difference at all. Only one way to find out...

If you've not had noticeable regrowth from it, then the shed coming off it shouldn't be too bad. Only one way to find out.

Fred is right, some horror stories out there. But gi joey would have seen some benefit in the year he was on it if he was a responder. I think he may lose some ground but maybe not much. Only time will tell. You also don't regain all the growth after you quit and restart, allegedly.

Yeah it depends how much minoxidil did for you in the first place. But minoxidil can be deceptive. Many people thought it didn't do "much" for them. Until they actually dropped it and started crying 3 months later due to a big shed. Only one way to find out really...

That's the only reason why i don't use minoxidil right now, it's a pact with the devil

After being on 10% minoxidil for 4 months, I wonder now what would happen if I went back to 5% minoxidil? I've just started 15% as a little experiment, wonder what would happen if I went back to 10%?

Uncertainties like this are the reasons why I will never get on 10 percent minoxidil or higher... Even as a rapid diffuse thinner I am going to stay on 5 percent minoxidil because it's easy to get and cheap

Yeah I understand that... But there's so much potential benefit/regrowth that it's hard not to try. You never know just how much hair you could regrow, and I always want more hair. Besides, using 10% once a day is really no different from using 5% 2 x per day as reccommended and there doesn't really appear to be a big difference in hair growth from 1x per day to 2x per day...
