How To Look Professional While Balding?

For some ironically reason, my career is starting to take off about the same time as my hair

I recently got offered a job interview for the leading firm in my country for what i what i work and want to work with (internal organizational optimization (god that sounds awful in english))

i am doing very good on my current job, and i rock a solid nw3-4 with long hair, dressing sloppy and just looking like sh*t - however its kinda my thing, to look sloppy but being competent - its actually what people know me by.

However i need to do a really good first impression at the interview iam going to, not talking about looking good, hiding my baldness or any of that nature - iam just talking about looking professional, how the f*** do you do that while severely balding?

3 months ago i paid around 100 euros for a haircut and styling, it looked f*****g terrific by the day, took me 1½ norwood up, i even went out because of it - however the next day it looked sh*t again - i dont think i have that kind of money without dipping in to my minoxidil fund

Your body will do more of the talking than your hair (if it's beyond saving). Start going to the gym, a friend of mine said that a nice body is a symbol of self respect, dedication, and how much you value yourself.

Until there are better hair loss treatments around, work on other aspects of your appearance.

Depends on how bald you are, maybe buzz and grow a very clean and short beard stubble.

The best thing to do is to stick with the most suitable hairstyle for you only, whether you wish to keep your Norwood 3/4 grown out or you decide to buzz your hair. Most importantly, keep your hair clean and groomed even if balding is evident.

I agree to some extent - but peope have a tendency to attribute imperfections like balding and acne, to the person being unhygienic and careless and thats kinda what i wanna avoid - rather have that "ohh that poor sould" than the "what a sloppy mess" vibe

Yes, exactly. That is a major issue with hair loss, it's often associated with poor hygiene when that's not the case. Baldness is such a difficult imperfection to deal with since it's something never brought upon one's self, impairs appearance negatively, and treatments work very slowly while being far from convenient.

It really is up which hairstyle is best for your case. Unfortunately, it's a situation where we do not have the luxury to truly change what people think of hair loss. At the same time, do not think too much about what others have in their mind about your baldness, otherwise it will drive you a bit crazy to an extent if you do, trust me.

I believe you - that why i try to be very open about my hair loss in my private life, even joking about it from time to time - otherwise i would honestly become insane.

However this is a different situation, literally 2 hours where the whole point is to judge me, a folliclebenders worst nightmare - but ill do my best, thanks for the advice!

Quick update:

So i went to the 100 euro hairdresser, ive been to a little over 3 months ago - she gave me this bradley cooper-ish haircut

But the real victory came when she said that she remembered me, and that my hair looked, i quote "a lot better" and "it was a lot darker than the last time"

I went through my pictures (have taken roughly 1200 in the last 6 months - i know.....) , and i could see my hair getting better (maybe its all in the head though).... when i have time i will find some comparable pictures and throw them up here, so i can get an objective view and if its indeed getting better, maybe help someone

Not sure what you mean by "professional." I work in a corporate setting and deal with lots of professionals from other large international companies. If you are NW4+ and keep your hair short and "neat" no one will give you a second look. The main thing is to keep it looking tidy. Lots of professional guys that are going bald grow beards too, and if you go that route you need to keep the beard trimmed and tidy as well.

I see some guys bic their heads but I think this is a weird look for a professional unless you are very dark skinned. 1 or 0 guard can look okay with some facial hair, but for whatever reason most balding professionals I know don't keep it that short.
