Hello, gentlemen:

I'm currently on finasteride and want to get Dutasteride Rx from the university health services.

But last time I visit, a female doctor refused to prescribe it because it is not FDA approved.

I'll visit again next Monday with a male doctor; hopefully, this time he will be more sympathy.

But are there any useful thing I can say in order to convince the university doctor to give out the Duta prescriptions? I know they are concerned about the jobs, not about me.

Many thanks.

Do they give you finasteride or Propecia ? Technically generic finasteride is not approved for hair loss in the U.S

Going to tack my question on since it's similar, since I'm planning to make a doctor's appointment myself. How would you go about convincing a doctor to prescribe generic finasteride, anyway? What should I print out, what should I say? How do you approach that situation?

Usually when I go into a doctor's office they kind of take charge of the situation and will say "No, you don't need it, nothing's wrong with you" (when I'm pretty damn sure there's something going on) and I'm just like "... Oh.. okay." like some little kid.

I don't want to try buying it online/out of country because I don't know if I can trust the pills.

I will be very surprised if a doctor / physician will prescribe Dutasteride (Advocart) for male pattern baldness. No way. I will be very surprised.

The FDA have not approved this for male pattern baldness, although some studies have been carried out. You would expect a lengthy time until this is approved.

People who are on dutasteride here, buy online through different channels.

I've stuck with prepecia (finasteride) and it works for me.

I could get dutasteride from my Dr no problem.

Any open minded DR will look into off label use for a drug
