How's my hair looking?

I stopped obsessing at some point when my hair started to bounce back from accutane, it took about 3 years! I got Telogen effluvium and overall thinning/shedding and it made me very anxious and destroyed my self esteem as I didn’t know what was happening to my hair as it made it appear thin. What exactly is a Norwood 1.5?
It's inbetween a norwood 1 and 2. Not quite a norwood 1 and not quite a norwood 2. It's normal for it to recede a tiny bit, you're not going bald.

You're not balding though. But I agree, I shouldn't be here all the time.

Im atleast at the age where it's good to stay on top of things. Which is basically the case, your 18 you don't need to worry untill 25-30. That's when the signs is most men become more apparent. You should be living your life, boning chicks and making bad desicions....lol

I'm recovering from a leg operation atm so I can't do sh*t except for watching tv and coming here. But thanks for the advice man, I'm at my happiest when I buzz my hair off and I don't constantly have to pull my hairline back, so maybe I'll do that to stop the obsession.

Here’s another update on things. About to turn 26. What do you guys think? I’m thinking I’m starting to see some loss could be wrong and delusional though. First pic right side, 2nd is left side.

Looks to me you only lost the baby hairs at the corners of your temples. Besides that, doesn’t appear to have changed since the 25 pics.
Damn just saw that your Accutane thinning lasted three years... I have diffuse hair loss from accutane too. It’s been two years since I finished the course. Was your thinning really bad? Or could you cover it up fairly well and only you realized it was thinner. Another thing to mention is that my scalp is dry as hell, even two years after. Did yours improve gradually or did it take a full three years and then you saw a sudden improvement? If gradual, when did you first notice signs of major improvement?

Also, did anything help your return to normal like any medications?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks did you see me pics from yesterday too? Yes accutane took a toll on my hair it gave me tellogen effluvium and the shedding didn’t stop until about 3.5 years after accutane. It was horrible I truly thought I was losing it. Nothing really helped me, I just waited it out until it resolved which kind of sucked.

Yeah I saw those, you’re just pulling it back more compared the photos from earlier.

Damn that sucks. My problem is that I’m not exactly shedding a lot, it’s just that I’m not getting the regrowth I want

All I can say is just wait it out, and don’t stress about it too much. It drove me crazy but eventually my hair stopped shedding a lot. I can’t wear hats anymore either it aggravates my hair and makes it shed due to taking accutane. I do believe it changed something with my hair, not as thick as before but I could just be maturing as well hard to say. I did try minoxidil when I was 19 but I feel like it was pointless. If you’re scalp was inflamed like mine was for a while, try nizoral it helped me quite a bit. I also wash my hair every day it gets quite oily fast!

I’m dropping minoxidil now, it’s not doing anything plus it probably makes my scalp more inflamed. But it sucks that there’s like a permanent change to your hair texture/quality. I wonder if that’ll also take time to reverse in your case.

New plan for me is to wash my hair every day to prevent build up and clogged pores. The shampoo is moisturizing too so it should prevent dry scalp. Nizoral is good but it dries my scalp out a lot. I kinda need my scalp to be super moisturized to make up for the lack of oil

Yeah do you have any recession? The shampoo I use daily is head and shoulders MEN, cool menthol, my hair seems to like it and it works for me.

No recession but some thinning around the hairline corners. So sometimes it looks like recession. Thanks, I’ll take a look at that shampoo

So similar to mines? Yeah if you have a inflamed scalp like I always did it helped mines tremendously.

Yup mines very similar to yours and I’m close to your age so it makes sense. I think that slight recession in the very corners is normal.

My scalp is always red and dry so that might be what I need

i think people here call it a “mature” hairline but what do I know haha. But hairline recession is such an insecurity for men it sucks!

The good news is girls don’t pay attention to that sort of thing

Ok so lately I’ve been noticing some changes. Idk why I started obsessing again, I’ll be turning 26 soon and I’m still not sure if I’m balding or not. What do you guys think? It’s only my right side that looks iffy but it could just be me having ocd.
