There looks to be a ml etc thing on the side(it's clear..you can see the liquid) according to the videos. I ended up getting the topical just because it's reasonable and uses liposphere tech..and I haven't used anything in quite some time. May end up getting the brush- depends if I decide to keep up with the topicals again...

Thank you for making this thread Jacob because I wouldn't have known about the product otherwise.

After watching their videos, it does seem like a good invention, but as cyrusthegreat said, I wondered about dosage... I went ahead and emailed the company yesterday about what they think an average dosage is per day when used with the recommended amount of swipes (2 to 3 combings)... waiting on a reply.

The Spark product looks pretty good, I would say the main ingredients I'm interested there is the Adenosine and Apple polyphenols since they seem to have some solid research behind them.

You can put 1 ml from the dropper everytime you use it. problem solved finally ,applying minoxidil was a major problem in getting results

This looks like a very interesting product, especially for people with longer hair. As my hair is growing, it is getting harder to apply minoxidil and I find myself using more than is probably needed in order to actually get it on the scalp instead of just coating my hair. I will definitely look into using this :D

I tried this actually, but i had a real problem dispensing a steady stream of minoxidil out of the syringe. I would end up getting big spurts of liquid out instead. As i applied pressure on the plunger, gentle constant pressure, it would jump forward and dispense a big squirt of minoxidil. Maybe it's the quality of syringe, idk. Either way, i ordered the brush and should have it tomorrow to try it out.

Thanks for posting this! I have lengthy hair and the wastage due to difficulty in application has been bothering me for years.
A dropper does a decent enough job, but you need to rub it in after each drop to prevent it from flowing onto your face. To cover the whole scalp with a dropper is also quite time-consuming.
To anyone who has used this: how is the mechanism for the drops to come out? The videos seem to show long-haired girls combing through the whole length..as though they're applying leave-in conditioner instead of Minoxidil. The whole idea of this is to enable the ease of application and minimise waste, but without a good design I can see storing the whole bottle of minoxidil in this Hydrobrush could in fact be wasteful as the drops unnecessarily come out...unless it only comes out with a slight push?

Following this thread, I bought the hydrobrush from the roots hair club site. The price is reasonable ($25) as the shipping expenses ($22 to Europe). There is a complimentary "spark" lotion containing regrowth factors and DHT blockers.

It's a pity my hydrobrush is faulty. It leaks liquid from the seams. The different parts of the brush should be glued together hermetically with an ultrasonic method, except they're not in my case. I lost half of the spark solution in two days because of this leak.

I contacted the customer care of roots hair club and they wrote back it is very strange the brush leaks and they need a video to witness that the unit is really faulty. I am gonna do that today and keep you posted.

Update: they're sending a replacement. My first impression of the faulty one is that anyways it is really a game changer for applying the lotions deep in the scalp...

I would have bought it right now if it wasn't for the $21 shipping outsise the US.

Once you receive the new one, what I'd like to know is if it helps you use liquid minoxidil more efficiently, and if you think it could work with the foam if you liquify it. Thanks.

Will do. Even though you need to put at least 10 ml in the brush to be comfortable to use, and that is a lot of foam to liquify!

Thank you. It's really easy to liquify foam, especially with the weather over here, so leave it outside for a few minutes and I can suck it up with the 1ml dropper. And worst case scenario I can just use a blow dryer over it and viola you have your liquified foam.

Also might be interested in getting this if it's good. Any feedback?
In a few days. The thing to look out for is how it behaves with minoxidil, which is a pretty nasty liquid to distribute.

Here goes.
Two words of prologue:

- This is not an official "GourmetStyleWellness" review. It is just a user's opinion;
- I did not get this device for free or with a discount for a review, I paid it in full so, if it is positive, it is only because I liked it.

My two cents:
- It comes from the US. This means it takes 12 days to come to Europe. It costs $25, but you have to pay VAT on imports. Over here it is 22%. Other countries may vary;
- With a first buy, they give you a complimentary "spark" lotion, which has this composition:
IMG_2967.JPG

- I don't know for how long "Spark" will be complimentary with a first buy of the brush;

- The "Spark" lotion is particularly important: not only does it contain aminexil and adenosine and stuff. It also contains a polymer that melts minoxidil in case you want to use minoxidil with the brush (see point below);

- The web site (rootshairclub dot com) does not suggest to use plain minoxidil in the brush, as it contains PPG, which may clog the bristles. They suggest you put in the brush half "spark" half minoxidil. I did so. In addition, minoxidil contains a lot of alcohol so it can evaporate too quickly;

- To allow the liquid to flow to your scalp, you just slightly lay the brush on your scalp and "comb it";

- The brush leaves, in an incredibly fast manner, a thin film that can be considered rather uniform. The film makes your hair much less dirty than a spray or even a dropper, but it still makes it a little dirty (unless your hair is really thin, I guess).

- Especially if you use minoxidil, the brush has to be washed monthly so that any residues are taken away and liquids can freely flow through the brittles;

- It is not easy to dose the liquid. With 5/6 strokes you consume 2 ml. It needs a little experience to dose 1 ml if that is what you need.

My rating? **** over 5. Not five stars because of the impossibility to use pure minoxidil without having to clean the brush often or mixing it with "Spark".

Apart from the good evaluation, though, I will not only use the brush to apply my lotions. I do not want to put all my eggs in just one dispenser ;)

I will use it in the morning (because it takes like ten seconds to appy) but at night it will be the usual dropper.

Thanks Roberto for a detailed review. But I still can't make out how big a deal it is to use pure minoxidil with it. I don't want to tie myself to spark ,infact I intend on using the brush with other custom topicals. And does it only create thin uniform layers, which means there would still be spaces between the layers where you don't have any minoxidil?Thanks

I use this with rogaine only. I have had rogaine in it now for over a month without cleaning. The minoxidil or ppg, not sure which, does crystallize at the tips of the brush teeth, where liquid is dispensed, after a day or 2 but I I just continue brushing through to unclog them. When I run out of the supply of rogaine in the brush I will definitely clean the brush, as it could use it.
