I woke up this morning and like I usually do I run a thin toothed comb through my hair. I do this to test how many hairs I lose over night. When I did it this morning, I am telling you there was anywhere from 50 to 100 hairs on the comb and in the sink. It really hurt becuase this month's shedding was pretty bad and my hair isn't looking to good. Other than what I already do in my regimn does anyone have any other suggestions? At this point if you tell me to put dog sh*t in my hair I probably would do it, thats how bad it was today. PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm in the same boat man....been on propecia for over a month now and im shedding the same as i was before i started...the thing that freakin scares me tho is that when i look at the hairs i shed a lot of them get thinner progressively towards the tip if u look closely...i think if u are shedding thick hairs with no decrease in diameter dont worry bout it

Big Tymer: I hate to give the bald fact: It is time to either accept being a bald man, or forgo all dignity and glue scraggy, shaggy carpet to the top of your shiny pate. These are your only choices. If you are under 25, I understand your childish delusions. If you are any older, accept my condolences. Just remember to vacum your head every day. Good luck.[/b]

Shedding (unless you have some rare medical condition that as a symptom causes hairloss - if you did then you would know about it for reasons other than some extra hairs on your pillow) is nothing to worry about, it's natural and it would happen whether you were taking Propecia or not and whether you were going bald or not. The actual hair falling out is not the problem, everybody's hair falls out and goes through cycles where more falls out in one month than in another month, this is completely normal and natural. If you're going bald it's because your hair is not growing back, I can understand a lot of people are paranoid about their hair falling out but you need to forget about it and concentrate on the actual causes of your male pattern baldness.

When you're going through balding phases you lose more hair than someone who isn't balding.

But while adding propecia and other items to your head, shedding will occur. I've been through a couple major sheds. One was after I quit minoxidil, i shed constantly chunks of hair for 3 long months. A lot of it gew back...

I am only on minoxidil...I am shedding like crazy for the second time in 3 and a half months....The first time I shed 10 days after starting Min and it was crazy...and now after 2 months crazy shedding again...
But what can I do...I cant stop minoxidil..that ll make it worse, so I am staying with it and cry everyday when I shampoo and comb..:(

biglemoncoke -- I see that you have been on Min for a month now. i think you are going through the initial shed. Stick with it. I am hoping you will see some results after that....

I am more worried coz I am seeing another shed when I shud be actually seeing some regrowth..the second shed...
