Hey guys, I am 19 now, and already lost so much hair. I dont know what to do. I have tried the Australian natural hair spray for 6months, which costs me so much and is rubblish. Now I am taking vitahair, but I dont think it is helpful at all. Last week I have found this website, and heard that the 5% Minoxidil works quite good, so I have brought it. I am trying to use this for about 4 months at least to see what will happen.
But what eles you guys would suggest me to buy? And what should I do?

Here are the pics!
taken this year April when I was in Canada, studying High School.

I think it's worst than before, have no clues what I should do to deal with it!
Cheers!

he was on propecia too but i wouldn't go that route yet because you are young.

It's up to you, really. But you'd be messing with your hormones at 18.

I would get on propecia, 18 is old enough to take it.

Your hairloss is already quite noticeable and personally I wouldn't take the risk of it getting worse, propecia is the best chance to at least maintain.

The chance of any problems with propecia is negligible.

I was 19 when I started to notice my hair was thinning (Im 21 now). I wish I had started Propecia back then when I had a nice thick head of hair. (Sigh) those were the days.

As you are young you could try a reduced dose of finasteride and see how you go. I have been taking 0.25mg of finasteride (1/4 Propecia) a day for just over 3 months and have recently started to notice fewer hairs falling out. Hopefully the reduced dose is starting to work for me. Someone posted on here a while back who had good results, including regrowth, taking 1.25mg of finasteride (1/4 Proscar) every other day.

Do not take a reduced dose. 1mg is the dose. Its safe, its effective and its proven by FDA approved trials.

i think u should wait until u are 20 so you will be full grown to use it.

im 18 and i dont want to start because it has some bad side effects, im not saying it will affect me but im not taking risks.

Sorry if I sound blunt here, but here is the crux of the Finasteride decision. I don't mean to sound condescending, I am merely trying to present the truth unvarnished so a clear decision can be made.

Basically, the chemical that DHT suppresses is the same one that triggers a man to go through puberty. Men need DHT for the initiation of puberty, and throughout puberty, to make sure that the post-pubertic changes that puberty brings hold firm.

Some people at certain ages have fully masculinized, they have developed the lean musclularity of a grown male, full compliment of pubic hair, good development of facial hair/beard, produce a healthy load of sperm when they whack off and/or dip their wick, have a mature sense of humor as opposed to Dave001's, and their bodies have fully converted from teenager into man. Others take longer to go through and finish these changes.

If you are 19 and are "finished" with your puberty, then go ahead and start up on the propecia. If you still have a "youthful" masculinity and are unsure if the masculinization process (hairloss excepted!) has fully taken hold in your body, then hold off.

Dave001 theres a time and a place for humor.

Exactly. Unfortunately some people don't have common sense and they don't know when they should shut up or when they should make a joke.

Get on Propecia quick dude! You're thinning quite clearly on the crown. You have'nt shown pics of the top of your head or the temples or midfrontal area, but just by looking at your crown, its a safe bet that the other mentioned areas are'nt in great shape either. Agreed, your lighting is pretty harsh, but you are thinning no doubt. Crown thinning at such an early age usually indicates that you are headed for a NW6 or NW7. So do something about it FAST, and get on Propecia! It works best on the crown area, so you have a fair chance of succeeding. What's your family history of hairloss?
(BTW I'm 18, but I don't want to post pics of my hair, bcoz the administrators will kick me out of the forum if I do so)
Cheers,
Arjun

Taking propecia isnt giong to alter the maturity level of your sense of humor.. for example. I started taking propecia when I just turned 19. I take propecia untill im 27. My maturity level will not stay the same as it did when i was 19,when i started taking finasteride.
