I counted a little less than 20 hairs in the shower today. For the past week it’s been like that, aside from one day where it was definitely over 50 (I wore a hat all day the day before). Which is a lot better than when I started where I’d stop counting at 30 and still have more than that I’m my other hand.

With that being said, with the amount of density that I’ve lost in the past few months, I think I may just be shedding a proportionate amount. Does that sound reasonable?

No I think you are in the clear man. I would expect regrowth!

I think it's Telogen Effluvium, but I have just one teeny-tiny bit of doubt. Isn't Telogen Effluvium supposed to affect all the hair on the head and not just those present in NW6 zone?

No it can be assymettric. Also density for a lot of people is naturally lower on top

This means nothing. Androgenetic Alopecia will shorten the anagen phase in your thinning areas and by result you will have a positive pull test.

No one can tell if you have a telogen effluvium based on what you post online... if we could see your scalp with a microscope maybe we could tell but even then it would be hard as you likely have some amount of Androgenetic Alopecia element as well and we would see miniaturized hairs

Even if you do have a telogen it’s not necessarily good news if you have Androgenetic Alopecia+Telogen Effluvium it doesn’t necessarily grow back

Yeah, I am treating it as if it is male pattern baldness anyways. The thing that concerns me is that its been over a month and finasteride did not lower the shedding at all. I was expecting to be down to losing 100 hairs per day only now but I guess my case is too aggressive for finasteride or I just need to wait longer.

Is that wet/gelled?

It was after I rubbed rosemary oil on my scalp. No water. But its basically like this everywhere on the scalp and especially towards the back. Fukn hell man a few months ago I wouldnt be able to ever see light through my scalp.

It's completely normal for finasteride to take significantly longer than one month to do its' thing. Hang in there, there is really nothing else you can do at this point.

Well today I counted up 28 hairs in my hair catcher. That’s still a lot. Some of it looked to be body hair but I’m still losing a good amount...

Rosemary oil is going to make your hair significantly worse. As it clumps the hair together as if wet. You should do a picture dry.

In regular conditions it does not look as bad because its only been falling for 4 months. But you can definitely see a lot of scalp now. Gonna start saving up for a transplant now. Im 21 right now, by 26 when I become NW6-7 I should have enough to get it done.

But shouldnt it have atleast slowed down the loss even a tiny bit? I mean my dick has been feeling the effects of finasteride since the first week I took it but my hair isnt.

Todays addition. What is the world record for fastest time to go from NW1 to NW7... I am 90% sure I am going to beat it.

This is my hair dry and under natural lighting. If you look closely, even though my hair is pretty long to cover it up you can still see that I am diffusing in the NW6 pattern just like my dad. Just 5 months ago I had 0 hairloss and now I can easily see scalp. Does this look like it could be telogen efluvium or is it definately male pattern baldness? Either way diffusing in this pattern at 21 years old means im gonna go bald right.

take a pic of your hairline pulled back. its probably not telogen effluvium. Pretty sure you have to lose hairs accross your entire scalp for that
Yeah its male pattern baldness. And my hairline is thinning and recedingtoo but its not too terrible yet. I am comfortable with a slowly receding hairline that recedes for the next 15 or so years and then I go bald. I am not however comfortable with diffuse thinning all throughout the top of my head.
