Hello Everyone,
I really need some advice. Hopefully, some people out here can help. I had been on propecia for 9 years and it worked well. It helped me maintain my hair and grow some too. Sadly, after 9 years, propecia no longer seemed to help so i switched to dutasteride. dutasteride for 4 months worked wonders and then all of the sudden it stopped. So i decided to test my body a bit and took a combination of dutasteride and finasteride. This change really worked well for another few months. The density up front and on the crown was noticeably thicker. Consequently, my luck ran out. i believe that i am now at that stopping point. I have been loosing hair rapidly again. I don't really know if it is a shed or whether my hairloss is so much more agressive that meds may no longer work. I am also using minoxidil each day applied at night before bed.
thanks...

Why not add a topical like spironolactone to get topical anti-androgenic effects? That could boost up your regimen.

Also, copper peptides?

Are you using Nizoral?

Hmm thats not good. dont stop taking those even if they seem to be crapping out on you who knows how much more you could lose. I doubt spironolactone will maintain anywhere near those treatments. Really the 2 biggest guns your using already. You could take oral spironolactone but its pretty dangerous probably not a good idea. See the problem is its been 9 years and we dont have any new good treatments for a guy in your shoes its pretty retarded.

Dutasteride is the king of current fda approved dht inhibitors. Theres nothing better really your using the best there is.

Thanks blueshard.
I was thinking about trying spironolactone but wasn't sure if it would provide me much more in terms of re-growth or prevention of hairloss than just by using minoxidil, dutasteride and finasteride. Have you had any good experiences with spironolactone?

I used copper peptides in the past for about a year before i gave them up. I guess it worked alright but it ended up being a bit too messy for me overall without the results i wanted.

I also do use nizoral 3x a week.

I agree abcdefg, its really retarded being on meds like these so long and we haven't seen any great feasible developments lately. Hopefully, something happens soon.

I'm kinda in your situation too, Dem. Over 5 years on Finasteride (minoxidil also) and this has helped me maintain but I feel I'm slowly losing ground now. Here's what I think the options are:

- add a topical DHT inhibitor like spironolactone or Revivogen;

- add a growth stimulants like Minoxidil, Proxiphen or Nanogen;

- add some SODs / anti-inflammatories like copper peptides, Nizoral (which you're on);

- try a lasercomb?;

- try needling?;

- otherwise use gentle shampoos and avoid irritating your scalp...

It's a tough one because if you're no longer responding to the proven meds (finasteride and Min) then it's all a bit of a lottery...
