I domed it...

After spending three days in the hospital with no good way to wash my hair and having to be embarrassed as the prothik I had on gradually flaked away, leaving bald patches all over, I decided to go for the slick look for awhile. And you know what? It's not so bad. Minimum maintenance and a savings of about fifty bucks a months since I won't be needing any concealers or special hair care products for awhile. I don't mind the way it looks, either. It's actually kind of liberating. For any guy who is considering shaving their dome, go for it. You can always grow it back if you don't like it, and you might actually find it preferable to all the extra stuff you're doing to either maintain your current state or try to grow it back.

Shaved my head yesterday. Feels like the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders.

Even though my masked receding hairline is obvious now, my hair looks tons better and I look more healthier and like I have my act together.

I'm actually loving this.
As effective as the prothik was in concealing my thinning hair, it was far from perfect. My wife said my hair looked "dead".
Spraying that stuff on every day and getting it just right was a pain in the ***, too. Not to mention the nearly forty bucks a month it cost me. Now when I look in the mirror at my shiny head, it doesn't bother me a bit. I did this once before and didn't like it, but this time around something is different.
Maybe being in the hospital I.C.U for several days reset my perspective on life a bit.

Well, it's been several days now since I opted for the slick look. I still like it. For some reason, it makes me feel younger. Don't ask, because I can't really explain. It just does. Yes, I've had people asking me why I did it, but not in a critical way. My response to their questions is that I wanted to try something new. I've even had one friend of mine saying that he's now thinking of doing the same thing.

Yes, I have every intention of staying like this for quite some time.
