im not rationalizing anything... i took finasteride for about 6 months without any sides, and then, out of the blue i had some sides (slight gyno, balls and penis aches) a week or so after i stopped, sides were gone (luckily *knocks one wood*!!!).

the longer you stay at "risk group" the chance of suffering with sides increases. this is a statistical fact that any moron understands.
as i said before... its your life.. you think it worth risking you libido on top of losing your hair? even if for the off-chance of getting sides? do as you please.. im not here to stop you, just bring you the truth you find so conveniently to ignore.

For what it's worth, it was the same for me in the first two months. Not trying to scare ya, just saying. My libido was noticeably higher than usual and gradually went back to normal. At the 8 month mark suddenly I couldn't get it up anymore. Tried to go back on finasteride two times without success. Now it only takes me a few days of a low dose to develop sides and a lot longer than that to clear. TBH I'm kinda thankfull my dick is back to normal. If there's one thing that sucks more than baldness it's ED. Big time.

One thing I wonder about those 1%/2%/5% statistics, depending on where you read, do they take into account like any noticeable side effect or just very serious ones. For example, is a slightly lower libido considered a side effect or you need to have a complete ED for it to count? I'm having a hard time believing it's only such a small minority that experience ANY sides at all.

Unfortunately no. I was actually in denial the first it happened, contributing my symptoms to anything but finasteride. Now if I take it, not only my libido crashes but I get no morning wood at all, ever. I mean, it's not something you control. I admit I'm not too familiar with the science behind it but there is not doubt in my mind that my body can't tolerate finasteride anymore.

Obviously reducing the dose doesn't work for everyone. Besides, even if it did help, I'm not sure how smart of an idea would it be to continue taking the medication for the rest of your life. If I could go back I would take finasteride again but stay the hell away from it as soon as the sides kicked it. Can't believe I was stupid enough to continue experimenting that long.

Not having morning wood for years at your age sounds odd but I'm not a doctor. All i know is that the only time in my life where I would constantly not have one is while I was on finasteride.

It was way way before finasteride, Basiccly its bull**** you only have it when your not jacking off enough, never had problem with getting erections I just need to think of it and thats all. This won't change after finasteride, like I said I had slight gyno on every day dose but this were stopped when I lowerd to every other day, now 4 months after Hairloss stopped and no sides and I'm saving money.

You just need to find the amount that fits you, finasteride can work well even on a quarter dose

Basically if you get sides from finasteride it means your dht takes time to rise again cuz finasteride make it drop, that's why you should take it every other day and if is dident work every 2 days or even 3, even in a dose of one time per week you can get the same results, finasteride is extremely powerfull. Basically one thing I do agree, merk are scums for saying to take one pill per day obviously for money.

Obviously you dident actually used your brain and tried diffrent doses, you prefer to let yourself think it won't work so you could join the Internet nutcases against finasteride, yep that's the easiest way, while you ignore even the op who took it for 14 years without problems.
