Browsing the internet and reading stuff about finasteride (I really shouldn't!) it seems that everyones biggest concern is side effects!
Before I started finasteride I didn't even care about possible side effects. My biggest concern is whether or not it's going to work for me. What if I fall into that very small 10% group!

Sides I can live with. Loosing my hair I can't...

Wait till your little friend doesn't get up anymore, then we'll talk again. I once didn't get it up for two days after a dance festival with much drug use. It was hell. I can tell you I jumped two metres high when I got my first morning wood back again.

Before I started taking finasteride I read everything I could read about it before making a decision. I have the PDF from Merck about Propecia, the main study of finasteride and a couple of word docs with useful information from users in several forums. I think you should be more than aware of the sides, but also it's a good thing to not think about it much.

I think exercise and a good diet should do while taking the drug, and all I can say is try to be positive man. At least you are doing something about it, it's worse if you didn't.

10 + years on finasteride and throughout this time very minimal sides.
I admit tho that it does effect my wood but very minimal. I know this cause I got off it for a couple of months and erection become a lot more intense.

It can be seen as a good mentality to have when starting finasteride, though going to the extreme of just ignoring the side effects you may be putting yourself at serious risk of long term sexual issues. But I'm pretty sure the guys you see on here or on sites like propeciahelp who talk about experiencing side effects in the first hour are laughable or just trolls, like excruciating detail into how their dick shrinks and their balls tingle LOL! Obviously some people just aren't mentally capable of taking a drug that isn't 100% safe. But the sides are very real, many people on these forums who I actually trust and I believe who aren't unstable have taken it and have experienced sides, long term sides. Swingline has.

Because if you are then you are the only idiot here. I'm on finasteride regimen myself but I'm 10 years older than you kid. At 16 years old is not recommended to take this drug, you and your shiitty dermatologist have no idea how imprudent this is. Good luck messing with hormones at a stage when you are still in development.
I do not care what are you going to do about it, or where the hell are your dumb parents but your situation is concerning and to any new reader I want to make sure they are not misinformed.

I would say if you cant deal with losing your hair, then give finasteride a try. Personally I think taking it before you are 21 puts you at greater risk for sides, but who knows...

Im sure that I pretty much done growing so I take finasteride just the same as someone who is 22 takes finasteride. Everyone ages differently and you have very basic understanding of the hum body to make the generizations you make. My derm who has been a doctor for 30+ years said himself that he thinks finasteride is relatively safe.

Bottom line, you dont know what youre talking about and should probably get of these forums

Alright, so you can grow facial hair, body hair, your voice is deeper than last year, and you already reached an acceptable height... It makes sense, that means your body already stopped developing. Brilliant.

How has finasteride been working for you? How long have you been on it?

Well its been nearly 3 months that I've been on finasteride and I'm not yet sure if my hairloss progressed or if i shed, but im definatly below baseline. I'll have to use finasteride for another 3 months or so and the condition gets even slightly worse I'l switch over to dutasteride just to be on the safe side. My biggest worry so far is that I'm in the 10% that finasteride doesnt work on. No sides at all tho
