I am on my 11th bottle of Propecia and my hairline keeps receding. I really need to start minoxidil, but something is holding me back. Perhaps its the horror stories of shedding the frontal third, or maybe having the nuissance of applying the stuff 2x a day for what could be very little benefit, or simply the cost as a college kid only has so much. Whatever it is, this is driving me crazy. Hair loss makes me rethink my life plan, as in can i stomach the embarassment of it when dealing with presentations for various business courses, and so forth. I really wish propecia would solidify my hairline like it has for posters such as ACT10Npack, but I worry that that it can't and it won't. Has propecia alone helped solidy (regrow/thicken) anyone's hairline as late as a year into the drug? I'm close to a year and I can't really say I feel good about all this.

It looks like you are headed for bald. Finasteride is slowing down your hairloss but you are obviously destined for very rather very bald. Attack it now! You have no choice. This is the game, you can not opt out. We all wish we were not going bald. Talking to your hair folicles and asking them nicely to behave themselves isn't going to work. Get on the big three right now. If you dont know what those are then do a search on them. If you attack it right now then the money issue wont be very big. I wish I had acted on my hairloss back when I first started noticing it. I could have maintained my hair very nicely, thank you, for about $200 a year (Fincar 1/4 ($100 for 90 tabs) + minoxidil 2ml 2x a day ($25 at Walmart for 3 months x4)). Now, I waited a few years and now I need to spend almost $900 a year on products. Luckily I was able to grow it all back. Not like those who waited even longer and will never get back to any kind of normal hairline. IT IS MUCH EASIER (AND CHEAPER) TO MAINTAIN THAN TO REGROW!

Minoxidil is not as bad as it seems. You get used to using it, like putting on your socks or brushing your teeth everyday. I have since switched to once per day for maintenance and its a snap. minoxidil combined with propecia is a very powerful measure to fight male pattern baldness and when the two are used at the same time is very effective. I wouldn't worry about the shedding of the frontal area from minoxidil. Its really not that bad and quite honestly, not that apparent to other people. If you are in college then order from here:

4 bottles for 30 bucks man! Just buy it, use it, and don't look back. Good luck!
