If Propecia does in fact have an 83% success rate, I guess I'm one of the unfortunate 17%. :sobbing:

Can't believe I've been on this for almost one year already (it's been about 11 months). I shed just as much hair per day as I have before taking Propecia. My scalp also itches just as bad as it did before treatment (I have used Nizoral twice a week before and during treatment and did not notice any results). Although I don't notice any positive results, I also don't seem to notice any side effects, either, which is good. It's almost like I have never taken Propecia to begin with. I think my hair looks slightly worse, but I'm not going to blame it on the drug. I'm just going to assume the drug failed to prevent further loss. The only positive out of this whole experience is that I will now be saving almost $70/month (I will take the last month's supply just to say I've given it one full year, even though I doubt anything will happen in one month). I just thought I'd share my experience so other users out there who aren't getting any results (if there are any out there) won't feel so alone.

maybe your loss is just too aggressive and finasteride is slowing it down. same thing is happenning to me, i am on the big 3 but my hairline is still receding, but im afraid that if i drop the meds things get worse faster.
have you considered getting along finasteride some topical anti-dht like revivogen or flutamide?

I don't think finasteride could even slow down my hair loss so I don't think getting off of it will make any difference. I actually did try Revivogen a few years back and did not notice any difference, either. I think I only used it for 3 months so maybe I should try it again for at least a year or so. The last option on my list is topical spironolactone. If that doesn't do anything than I guess there is no hope for me (I refuse to use dutasteride).
