I posted on this forum a couple of weeks ago with a concern that I was going bald . But when I uploaded the picture every reply was the same - your not going bald , however I felt that the pictures where not in bright enough lighting , so I took some new pictures in the brightest kind of lighting I could find and I noticed that the pictures looked completely different.

its just really starting to mess with my head to think that I could be going bald at such a young age . And I know for a fact that I would be a f*** ugly bald dude ( purely because I'm rather ugly with hair ).

Anyway I'll give you a bit of family history :

Both my granddads died with quite a good amount of hair for there age.

All three of my mums brothers are bald.

My dad had that wired fryer tuck thing going on.

And my dads brother is just starting to bald however he is 61.

Sorry for the long post it is just really messing with my head.

Quick note - last June I jumped on Regaine purely because I has a freakout.

Your temples are very thin, they probably will fall in your early 20s. Your crown is slowly thinning in cowlick region. Go on finasteride/dutasteride, be pro-active.

Are you kidding me?

@Jim whim Your hair looks perfectly fine and there's no need to stress over it. Given that hair loss runs in your family you should keep a close eye on it from now on. If your hair starts looking worse this year you're still early enough to catch it and treat it well.

Great density, low hairline, no signs of balding.

Definitely no need to worry about it now. You have great pictures of your hair, wait a few months, take more and compare. In particular keep an eye on the temple points.

There are treatments so you are not immediately doomed if you are balding.

No, but unfortunately this is how male pattern baldness works. When he will lose that thin hair on temples, he will have a big forehead like man in his 40s-50s. Just look at this pattern. I don't think I am too paranoid.

hair looks fine to me. I was one of these guys that posted on hairloss boards at 19 and was told by some I would be bald in a few years, and told by others that my hair was fine. I got to 26 with very minor recession, and I am now turning 29 this year and basically have the same hairline I did when I first posted. Yes I am suffering from male pattern baldness in that I am receding very slowly. My point is, just don't take anything anyone here says seriously when they try to tell you just how bad it will end up because noone really knows. Your hair looks fine to me and all you need to do is keep taking pictures every few months. If you ever do recede then you can get on finasteride and boom, ur set, thats all you can do so don't stress about it. You are not just going to lose all that glorious hair overnight.

We need a picture of your hairline from when you were like15 -16. No one can really tell you if your losing hair cause we dont know what your baseline is. For me, my baseline was under what your hair looks like now, for others, they were born with a hairline that youre sporting now. The best way to tell if you are balding is to see if there is change.
