Yep. What's worse is when you look back on your younger years and realize that you have ridiculously thick and luscious hair that is now gone. My confidence is at all time low. I'm 30 and started noticing my temples receding when I was 22. It's been almost a decade that I'm stuck with a semi combover hairstyle, but now I can't hide it no more coz the top of my head is ridiculously balding and the only way to make it look balanced is to have my sides and back on buzz cutt on 1 guard. Sucks

Right now I just started on finasteride (I'm 1 month in) and I use kirkland minoxidil xtra strength 5%. Currently experiencing a very very bad shedding. I used minoxidil since 2015, had results but eventually the dht and male pattern baldness caught up with me. My hair is worse than ever. Still hoping for the best though

I've been shedding for more than 3 months with no end in sight and my hair has taken a hit too. finasteride will rarely regrow and if minoxidil has stopped working you will really need something stronger for regrowth.

You could use oral minoxidil, spironolactone, cyproterone acetate, topical estrogen, etc.

Yes definitely. And I would stop using gels, wax, and other stuffs with chemical on my hair as well. But oh well its all in the past.

I asked cuz im 21 rn noticing hairline thinning and I really dont want to take finasteride but also dont want to be 30 and wishing that I took it when i was 21. Such is life for us early balders.

My advice is if you have male pattern baldness in your family, if your dad, uncles, cousins are bald, then there's a great chance you will also get it, its in your genetics. It sucks. You can lower the dosage of finasteride or take 1mg just 3 days a week.

My dad and his brothers were slick nw6-7 bald at 21.There is hairloss on both sides but on my moms side nobody really actually goes bald they usually end up slowly getting to NW1.5 or NW2 at max. Yeah im hoping rogaine can hold me off for a couple of years and Ill prob start taking finasteride at 23 or 24. Earlier if the thinning gets worse.

Im scared of the sides man. I might test it for like a month to see how my body responds.
