ya im talking about the OP. Im trying to tell him he is wasting time and worry over something that is most likely never going to happen to him (based on what he he said about his dad). Yet for some reason hes been a member for over a year. You might have a psychological problem man.

but it looks like a "mature hairline" to me

yeah nw2, been this way since 13, i doubt it has changed really but the hairlines still pretty strong, but with a big forehead and a widows peak, it makes it look worse

I don't think thats NW2... 1.5 tops. And... if I understand the "mature hairline" correctly, it can't precede body hair/zits, etc. Dr. Rassman says it can't start before 18.
I'm inclined to think that some of this is just guess work.
Think about this:
Hair "miniaturizes" before it falls out forever... And a human hair cycle is 2-6 years. So... Are those people that lose hair seemingly overnight (Barcafan says his dad went NW1 to NW7 in 2 years) miniaturizing in a NW7 pattern for years before it becomes obvious? Are some people's hair cycles dramatically shorter than others (say 2-6 months)? Some of this just doesn't add up.

Since you appear to be more heavy set, a shaved head isn't that great of a fit; something that framed your face might make it look slimmer? I don't know. I don't quite like the shaved look on you; maybe grow it out a cm or two?

Although I believe he can do whatever he wants to do with his hair (looks fine btw), I do agree that he is not balding in the slightest.

that mature hairline stuff is bogus, my hair def. matured at 13, cause at 12, i had a nw1 with 0 temple recession and ive posted pics of that and at 13 when it did mature, and its been the same since then, maybe im an exception because i hit puberty realativly early(9) and matured fast for my age, so yea, my hair def. matured before 18, i was posting on here before i was even 18..

Man this "I'm a Norwood 2 in my mid 30's" stuff is depressing to those of us actually losing our hair. As far as the original question goes, I think you look better with hair, certainly no need to shave it.

Kerzguy, just leave this place, really. It's not worth it.

Get on with life and stop worrying so much. Oh yeah, and let your hair grow out long, do a descent hair style (like patrick dempsey or zach braff), shave that beard off and it's gonna be great!

You said you have the same hairline for 6 years now. You don't think it got worse, you don't see any shedding, there's so male pattern baldness in your family.

i guess a Norwood 2 at 26-30 would be alright, least id still have my hair least in m 20s which is crucial, to me anyways, so its likely i wont be a Norwood 4 or w.e in my late 20's or early 30's most likely then

another reason why you should stop worrying. Let me guess, he has the same hairline for like 10 years or so?

I honestly do not think your a NW2 yet. You definitely have OCD(BDD) with your hair. I think you need to admit that to yourself and help yourself on that issue by not constantly staring at your hair in the mirror. There is no guarantee you are not going to go bald or close to it just because your family has no history of it. There are forum members on here that can verify that happened to them. If you constantly worry about your hair, you are more likely to lose it.

yeah i understand that, believe me, i drive my family nuts over it as well and i try my best not to think about it, and everyone just reassures me that im just seeing stuff that isnt there and worrying about something that has like an 85% chance of not even happening. ive shown my family that i've posted on here and lol, dr.house, from this post here by you i will quote it "You need to accept you are not going bald now. You do not need to come on here for anymore opinions. You had a professional one. Respect it and move on. Get yourself a girlfriend and have fun. Your lucky to be 19 years old with a full head of hair. Not to sound gay, but your also not a bad looking guy who looks good shaved or not, so you have nothing to worry about. Stop all this paranoia. Its not worth it." lmao my mom saw it and was like, that man is right, tell him i owe him a dinner lol.

You are a NW1 now so if you get to a NW3 in the next 5 years then you can start to worry a little more. So stop with the obsessive photos of your hair. Grow your hair out and shave off that face hair and you will look younger and more your age. But if you want to look older than just keep it the way you have it.
