I've been using finasteride for 6 months and I was convinced that it was causing me softer erections and I honestly think it was all in my head


The key to getting a great, super hard erection is to be extremely aroused. Well we all know anxiety kills arousal so if you're anxious and worried that finnasteride is killing your dick, you're never going to be able to be completely aroused the way you need to be to get a great huge hardon. I'm trying to forget completely about finasteride and I'm noticing I'm starting to get back my super hard erections

Ofcourse, the placebo effect works both ways - believe a drug will mess with your penis and it is more likely to happen. How often this happens with finasteride is unknown but there is definitely the real potential of sides from the drug that has been shown in trials.

Even If a lot of sides related to finasteride are mental it is still finasteride that is giving you them, hence what difference does it make. End result you should still come off the drug.

The sides are real. It’s messing with your hormones. But it doesn’t effect most people. It does to some but most people are fine and don’t have to worry about it.

if it's all mental, then you should be able to just forget that you're taking it and go back to your normal erections

I for sure have had a decrease in sex drive and its not mental anther thing I noticed is my ejaculations are less volume and cover less distance these two examples are quantifiable so not all side effects are mental

my whole point is guys we need to stop worrying about the effects of finasteride and understand that our worrying could be causing a lot of the problem in itself

the key to getting a rock hard erection is to be super super aroused. How are you going to be super aroused when you have anxiety that finasteride is killing your erections?

Just forget that you're even taking it and I'm sure most people would stop seeing sides

Very wrong. If it's in the literature that finasteride causes certain side effects then what is there really left to question? Does the placebo effect play a role in some people? Sure. Does that mean the side effects don't exist as a whole? No.

Also the very science behind the side effects happening (gyno, weakened libido...etc) are in line with what finasteride actually does to your body.

You have a quite low chance of experiencing sexual side effects on this drug. This is irrelevant to myself when I consider that these same studies report a full return to sexual function upon stopping the use of the drug.

Losing hair young + experiencing finasteride side effects = you really lost a f*****g hard dice roll in this universe.

I've been on finasteride for about a month and the only sides I have experienced so far are a few mild headaches. The first day I took a 1mg pill I felt like I was high off hard drugs, so I reduced the dosage significantly, currently taking 1/3 a pill every 2 days. I've already noticed my hair thickening and the oiliness in my scalp has almost completely disappeared, which was caused by excessive sebum production due to high dht levels.

Anyway the point i'm making is i don't understand why people don't ease themselves into the regimen and start with a low dose to ease into the hormone alterations. The lower the dose, the less risk of side effects, and studies have shown that even 0.2mg is beneficial for your hair.

I've been on Finasteride for 2.5 months now, I haven't initially notice any side effects, nor now, I masturbate at least once a day and my c*** is rock hard so all good.

I was always one of the people who were like sides are for fags, it's all mental, but when I took propecia I definitely got them.

The only sides I knew about were the soft erections. Stupid of me going in and taking a hormone altering pill without doing proper research, but the web is full of people saying propecia gives you weaker erections so I knew it was a thing to look out for

Anyway day 1 of taking my first pill (0.5mg) and my dick literally couldn't get even slightly hard. I started panicking but told myself it'll wear off when the body gets used to it. Sure enough, after a few days I can get hard again, but it's harder to get to that point and harder to maintain lol

The sides no one told ne about though were watery jizz, weak orgams, short term memory issues and gyno. All of which I got and are very, very real. It makes sense when you think about how propecia works.

Some people claim not to get any sides which might be true, but jesus christ this is a strong drug that I definitely think fucks with your body in ways people dont always realise.

I'm in my 30s and took it for a period of about 18 months at quite low doses yet 2 years later I still have the same issues from the sides which havent subsided much at all.
