I Think I'm Balding But No One Believes Me.

I'm 18 and a late bloomer, so I wouldn't think I would go bald so young, but recently, like the last 3-4 weeks, I've noticed lots of hair strands of all lengths in my bathroom, and I frequently tug at little parts of my head to see if I have loose strands. I don't appear to have a receding hairline and I don't have a bald spot, but rather a weird hair part on the top/back of my head that is somewhat jagged. My hair is long and gets blown up by wind as well. My mom doesn't think the hair scattered everywhere is a problem and she says that I just have a weird hair part. I plan on asking my hair cutter at my next haircut and I'm going to the dermatologist in a few weeks for unrelated skin problems but I want to also ask the dermatologist. What do y'all think?

Ps: this is my first post, sorry for rambling

No way for me to know without seeing it directly, but sudden hair falling out could point to an issue. Sounds more like a non-genetic issue though (not male pattern baldness) that may be caused by something else.

Have your hair cutter look at it as well as your dermatologist. They will be able to help you far more than most users on here will. Heads up...if you get insulting or rude or immature responses, don't get discouraged...lots of hateful people here. Only listen to the informed responses. :)

I would visit a derm that specializes in hair loss.

If possible, they could check the density of your hair using a microscope camera to see if there is miniaturization (a telltell sign of male pattern baldness). They can advise you if it is something else too like telogen effluvium, thyroid issues, low iron, etc

I'm not too experienced with hairloss, though I have the same kind of jagged part line at the top of my crown, I'm pretty sure it's just normal and where the hair grows out, if it looks generally healthy you should most likely be fine. Also check to see if it's thin anywhere else around there
That's just from my experience

well, it is possible to experience hairloss at a younger age, there could be many reasons for it, namely genetics, stress and skin problems, so yeah it is better if you seek for professional help.

I'd get your hormone checked make sure your thyroid is working correctly and that you getting enough vitamins. Start taking vitamin d, zinc, all b vitamins, biotin, vitamin c, may want to add lysine, cystein, methionine (amino acids). I just get like a small toolbox with 20 drawers and buy bulk and put the powder in each drawer. I'd get on iodine asap. But lets be honest here you are male, its probably a dht problem. I'd get on a low dose of dutasteride, (1-3 times weekly) and if you fap stop that, and the also get on an AR antagonist such as Eucapil or RU. Personally I love eucapil because it has almost zero side effects and reduces the amount of hairs shed. The first step is you want to reduce the number of hairs shed down to a very few number when you shower. Keep in mind if you brush wet hair it is is going to pull a lot of a hair out. So what you want to do instead is gently pad the hair, then when it dries style it with your hand and if it is tangled carefully try to untangle it (longer hair). Then when you get the number of hairs to go do very low you basically have the problem under control and try to start growing some hair back. Most people use minoxidil to do this but I don't like the fact that it makes my face look old so instead I use a solution made out of vitamin c, copper peptide, msm (for better absorption), and niacimide. I'm not sure if it is doing anything I'm also using a laser helmet because it showed about equal to greater results growing hair than minoxidil, if you want to use minoxidil go right ahead I'm sure it works great for a lot of people. It's a proven fact that people can't tell you are losing hair until you have lost 50% of it, do you want to just sit back and lose half your hair or take control now and fight for your hair.
