I Think The Mrsa Or Antibiotics May Have Caused Hair Loss

I've been taking antibiotics 5 different times for about a year. Recently I had to take it for length of 1 month.

I noticed that on the corner of my hair it looks like a chunk of my hair is missing. It's really noticeable and I'm wondering if it will grow back eventually. My hair was always thinning since age 19 and now I'm in my 30s. But I've been maintaining it by cutting it low. But now with this recent hairloss I don't like the way it looks.

Will it just grow back eventually? I'm just looking to maintain whatever hair I have left (along with what was lost recently).

Should I take biotin? Any side effects?

Please advise.

Cutting your hair doesn't maintain it.

As for the antibiotics, maybe they have an effect maybe they don't, I don't know. If you're worried about it then you should take some probiotics.

Biotin is not going to help you, and may in fact hurt you.

Most likely, you have male pattern baldness. If you post pics, the community can confirm and then we can advise you to take finasteride, minoxidil, and nizoral.

There are more and more studies coming out linking multivitamin or simply vitamin megadosing to bad health outcomes. For example, excess B-vitamins are linked to kidney failure and lung cancer:

https://www.cnn.com/2017/08/22/health/vitamin-b6-b12-lung-cancer-study/index.html

It's really hard to imagine how taking ~5,000% of the recommended daily dose, long-term, might be good for somebody.

Would you drink 100 liters of water a day?

Afro_Vacancy, I will share some pics. Sorry I've been so busy. I just come home and just sleep with very little time to do much.

Anyway, I'm Black and I've been using Jamaican Black Castor Oil to maintain my hair along with 2 fish oil supplements per day. I've been doing this for about a year. I now doubt that this regimen is doing much. Also, I cut my hair very low about every 2 days. I just do this to keep it looking neat. If I let my hair grow the thinning/balding parts will standout more.

Lastly, is minoxidil safe? If so, I'm puzzled as to why I haven't been using this already. I started thining at 19 and I'm in my 30s. I thought products like finasteride, minoxidil, and nizoral had huge side effects. I wonder how many other people with hair use these products.
