Hi guys, I just have a question

I was born with receded temples, Im now 23 and my hairline is exactly the same as when I was born. Today a chick commented on my receded temples and told me that I will go bald and I told her that this is my natural hairline, since I was a kid some guys commented that i had receded temples and that I will go bald. If I was born with receded temples will I go bald??????. I look at pictures when I was 2 years old and the hairline is the same.

I don't think your original hairline is enough to predict future loss.

I'm the same way as you, always had a big forehead and receded temples (and a really big swirl in the crown area too), part of the reason I didn't notice too early that I was going bald until people started to point it out to me.

But look at Jack Nicholson, he always had temples and his hair is fine even at an old age.

I had the same big forehead and receded temples at birth, and at high school was told i was going bald already even tho it was how i was born, hurts i know. I have started to lose the already receding hairline i had as a kid but its not in the apparent stages yet so medication is doing me well.

Being born with a high hair line at the temples has nothing to do wth developing alopecia later in life. You really do not need to worry on this account.

^ Who mentioned Alopecia?
Rov I'd suggest looking at your male relatives, High hairlines and receeded temples dont guarantee you'll go bald but they're not great omens.

in my experience, if u think are going bald or someone tells u "hey your balding" u probably are. that being said it doesn't mean ur gonna be a Nw7 anytime soon or ever even but vital parts of your hair may lose/have already lost density and that sux!

Well, I always had this receded temples, I look at pictures when I was 3 or four years old and the hairline is the same. My cousin commented that I had receded temples when I was 12 years old and also boys in the school told me about it. Its just the way I am.

Yeah probably so :)

I mean people from some regions of the world have hairlines that to us would look unusual, but don't at all mean that they are balding or losing any more hair. Maybe you're fine :)

:agree: i'm with dougfunny here.... i Think hoppy might be trolling u lol.... the fact is Rov is u must really seriously evaluate your situation and seek hardcore treatment asap if u are in fact balding(or else u will regret it) to paraphrase saf "receded temples are bad omens" amen they are indeed so don't get caught up in the whole denial stage too long.... nobody knows your body like u do.... if are balding u will know it.

Woah, woah!

Is this a joke? The OP said he has the same hairline now that he was born with; some people have naturally high hairlines, and that doesn't predict future male pattern baldness, because obviously being born with a high hairline is sod all to do with androgens. Not much DHT in the body of a newborn as far as I know.

Basically, I think you should wait to see if your hairline recedes further from this naturally high position, or until you see crown/vertex loss etc before you even consider treatments.

Hopefully you have nothing to worry about, mate. :)

So, should i stop worrying about this??. I always had this high hairline since I was born. My family history: my dad is bald, my paternal grandfather was bald, but my father has two brothers and they are in their 50.s and still have their hair. From my moms side, my maternal grandfather had amazing hair, he died when he was 52 and my mother has 3 brothers which 2 of them are NW1 with amazing hair, they are in their 50s and the other one is a NW2 with thick hair. Hope I get those genes
