3 years ago I was on Rogaine for almost 4 months, started shedding right away on it and just got worse and worse, Dermatologist told me to get off of it. Will I experience the same with Xandrox?
Which percentage should I go with?

I was also on Propecia for 4 months and it distroyed my hairline. Here it is 9 months later and my hairline is almost gone, I have to have my hair foward to hide the ugly hairline. spironolactone didn't do anything for me either.

Thanks.

p.s.
Did anyone ever use Rogaine in the past and have a bad experience? Years later stuck with it and it worked?

You got to realize that just about any treatment is probably going to make you shed in the beggining. 4 months is definately not long enough of time to judge Propecia. 1 year time must be given for propecia. Rogaine will make you shed at first, but then you should start growing back thicker healthier hair. Choose a simple regimen and stick with it.

The hair lost from Propecia should have grown back, but didn't, I also got off it after doing research on the long term use of it. Have you heard of anyone using Xandrox and kept shedding from it like some from Rogaine? Rogaine told me that the product will speed up hairloss for some.

You used Propecia for 4 months and you say you it destroyed your hairline. My friend, it was your male pattern baldness that destroyed your hairline. If you had not even taken the Propecia, your hairloss would have prgressed anyways. So of course those hairs didn't grow back, it was just progression. As for the research you did for the long term, what did you get out of it? Long term results are in for 5 year results. 90% of men had no visible hairloss. THats some good sh*t. Don't believe me? Check it for yourself. http://www.propecia.com/finasteride/pro ... ssment.jsp

As for Xandrox; it is also minoxidil just like Rogaine, except it has azelic acid instead of PPG. PPG causes some bad irritation in some people and it takes long to dry. The azleic acid has some test tube DHT blocking capabilities and it dries quicker with no irritation. You will probably experience a shed with Xandrox like Rogaine because it is also minoxidil.

So, no matter what, minoxidil grows back from the shed eventually and this guy is just a nervous nellie?

All signs point to yes, most people recover from their sheds. as it's been said before, alot of people freak out after a shed, or blame their natural male pattern baldness hairline progression on their meds, and then drop the meds far too soon to evaluate. If there's one thing we can all get from this board, it's a resounding "STICK IT OUT!" If you find that after a year or so on your regimen it really isn't working out, then give something else a shot or throw in the towel.

I can understand sticking with minoxidil. but what I was going through with Propecia was just too scary especially there are guys out there that stuck with it for a year and never stopped the shedding. There are articles on the web how some become shocked by putting Propecia into their system and it puts the hair into the tellegen phase. It worked for you, well good for you, Im glad it helps some people out. But don't disregard those that have had bad experiences with different products. Our body's do react differently.

I will try the Xandrox and stick with it for 6 months. thanks.

Deepsky,
Best of luck to you. Stick with that Xandrox and apply it religiously. Hopefully you see results. And maybe you shoulud also look into something to fight the DHT topically since you do not want to start Propecia again. Check out spironolactone or revivogen. Do some research on spironolactone. Good luck.

Azelaic shed - help

I have been on minoxidil and propecia for 6 years since i was 16 and have last month switched to xandrox 5% and have shed ever since.

I know this shed is NOT from minoxidil because i have been on regaine for ages. It must be from the azelaic acid.

How long is this shed gonna last? They have not justified a shed from azelaic acid, only from minoxidil, which is really worrying.

Please help

I don't think I had a shed. I used this for 5 months on the hairline and took photos as well. My hair receeded more so I got off the stuff. So far nothing works. The only thing that is helping my hair right now is copperpeptides in maintaining.

deepsky,

so your hair receded for the total five months?

and did you lose your hair at a faster rate?
