If the hype in society was being bald & if girls loved that would u accept baldness?

I don't think it would really change things for me. My girlfriend is fine with it anyway.

Baldness is more about how its affected my identity. I always liked being the surfer guy with the long curly hair. To go from that to bald is quite a change. I guess I also associate having hair with happier times as well (not related to hair but family etc)
damn dude if i had a girlfriend i wud spend less time on a hair loss forum.

exaclty how much do you care about baldness' effect on your identity?

i admit a lot of it is just girls . . . . identity too but still girls is a major issue

Admittedly I'm glad I have a gf as I don't have to deal with all the crap with dating. I think I'd have a hard time dealing with the inevitable rejection and grinding down if my self esteem/ confidence.

I was walking through town the other day and saw an old friend I hadn't seen in years.. I had to shout her name and say who I was because she didn't recongise me. She was like "oh you've changed a lot".
I said something like, "yeah, going bald, part of getting older for some of us". After I'd broken the initial awkwardness of my balding it was fine and we had a good catch up.
I'm literally unrecognisable to some people. I still look in the mirror and see somebody else... I'm slowly coming to terms with it

Identity shouldn't be downplayed. I'm in a long term one too and haven't noticed any changes with society/girls (at Norwood 2-3) but still treating my hair loss is vital to me. I like to look my best for myself, always a healthy approach. It goes with my "image" at work, conferences or social stuff. It look unsightly and unnatural to me, hair is needed on the head for both genders.

Also as a baldie it would be goodbye to girls over 7/10 in terms of them checking me out, pretty sure of that, at least for myself. I don't buy into the whole can't get any girl, you must be ugly or have some kind of issue to not be able to get any girl.

I was always a NW2 to 2.5 honestly but lately its so bad there is almost no distinction between my crown and front. My hair transplants did help but in the end it will never look "good" per say. Unless I have 100K to dump on getting every strand of body hair planted up there for volume and density.
I know when Im single again its pretty much hookers and fatties for me, not by choice.

When you are bald NO WOMAN will waste her time unless she is guaranteed a ring in the long run, which no one will get from me. Then again unless Im getting set up by a friend its not like any women will waste enough time to start any relationship and then WANT a ring. Guess Ill just slowly become comatose and watch my brother pick up girls half his age .

have u tried using concealer on the crown? I've seen results of guys doing transplants on the temples and and concealer on the crown and it ends up looking really good.
Not sure if you have heard of this guy, he has his own forum and youtube videos. I think he was diffusing in like a nw5 pattern

I think you're being hard on yourself. You are in shape, good insight, definitely not fatties and hookers. I think you're quite intelligent and might over think things or worry too much. But the dating scene will take a hit, no doubt. I do feel your pain as my forehead has become quite prominent with the recession, what used to look good, now doesn't if I style my hair up. But I get away with it currently styling it down and a first transplant next year should seal the deal.

Have you tried combing your hair down? What areas did you have your first transplant and how many grafts left? The picture you once showed I thought your hair was doing okay, certainly didn't look bad. Consider going abroad dude to reduce the costs. Don't give up. I have heard that in slow receders like us we tend to get a " massive hit" every decade or so. So if you have one in your 20's, the next one may come in your 30's so I hope your regimen is dealing with anti androgens even without finasteride.

Concealers don't sit well with me, would never use them. In fact it would make me more depressed and insecure. I almost equate it on a level as a hat or wig. The only reason I feel good the last 4 months is because of what finasteride is doing.

Yes. IIRC you're in your 40's with a similar Norwood to me? I've had it since mid 20's, never affected me, so I can see why it would be even less in the 40's.

I only use concealers when going out somewhere as a "night out" I cant make it an every day thing cause at some point I forget its in there and scratch my head only to have black fingertips. My hair is not (and never has been) hair you can "style". It has a natural curl and wave that was awesome when it was thick. Never needed combing, but now thats its getting thin it just makes it worse.
I fear talking about my procedures right now for "superstitious reasons" so I can not go into that to much right now. I REALLY need the crown thickened up more but really where will that money keep coming from?
Going abroad would cost me more when it comes to plane fair and lodgings.
MY hair doesnt look "bad" because its long. the wet pic shows it better (or worse depending on which side of the fence you are on).
The fact Im 5-8 now doesnt help. Some how I lost 2 inches in height since my 20s. MY pops is really short now so I just wonder if this is another genetic thing Ill have to deal with.
Yeah I get hit in heavy spurts. My 20s took a big hit, then my 30s IM pretty much losing it all.
Personally would rather be dead. Im tired of my GF getting fatter and when its brought up its "well youre losing your hair and I dont mind"..... this is what EVERY woman will give you since every girls who WANTS to take care of their appearance would not be caught dead with a bald ...... BALD, not shaved, guy.

Yes, I am older and we are close in recession. I have yet to have anyone bring it up and they all scoff if I say anything. I think we overestimate what most people consider bald or balding. Still sucks, though.

Having a GF when I started balding played it role in delaying treatment. It wasn't the only reason as I actually did see a couple of doctors that said there was nothing that I could do. Maybe if I didn't have a GF I would have been more desperate and did more research to find treatment options???

Definitely identity takes a hit when you lose your hair. I wouldn't say I am or ever was the best looking guy, but I was good enough to at least get women interested without having any approaching ability or game. With as shy as I was when I was younger I would have never gotten any *** if I balding. I agree with Wolf Pack. The quality of women checking you out definitely goes down with every norwood lost. Not saying it is impossible to get hot women, but you have to work harder.

Actually its quite apparent to EVERYONE in my case. No one denies I am losing it fast nor that its very noticeable. You get the pity responses though. "Oh youre still a good looking guy", "its just hair", "youre in great shape tho"

FUQ being in great shape. Id quit working out yesterday if it meant I could have my hair back, and NO IM NOT a good looking guy because when I shaved my head all of the SAME people told me it looked awful.

Again tho its just that my brother has the hair that bothers me more than me LOSING it. If he were bald to then this would mean nothing to me. Its nothing but pure envy and the thought he could literally deny his DNA but Im stuck with a daily reminder when ever I look in the mirror.

A buddy from High school just texted me. We reconnected like a year ago then lost touch again. He said there is a reunion coming up. He also told me hes proposing to his GF. The kids STILL has the same head of hair since HS. Hes a good looking kid to, young face and blue eyes. Small though. His GF is FUQING SMOKING. I was taking a dump while we were texting I almost flushed my phone out of anger.

Im happy for him tho, I like the guy but seriously if he were losing his hair he would not have that chick. He has awesome pop singer hair.

Reunions suck when you are going bald. This is especially tough when you used to be considered good looking. You can just see the disappointment or happiness when old friends/classmates see you are losing your looks. The fact that I am in good shape means nothing because of the hair loss.

Thats strange, Swingline. Maybe a crown thing? Mine is solid still. Ours is in the same ball park up front. Ive never been told that once, even from people I havent seen in years.

You lose height as you get older due to compression of your intervertebral discs with age, they tend to get thinner. It's usually max 1 inch but can be more even into your 60's. Take up a spinal stretch program, could be poor posture. Too early for bone issues.

Honestly, I really feel your pain. Like you, it's the fear of making do with lower rating girls or losing attraction - that hits me hardest. Plus summer is coming for us over here, usually that makes you notice yourself a bit more due to upcoming parties. I consider myself 7 out of 10. I have real high standards of looks so only consider anyone 9 or 10 who is genuinely model looking, I get mocked for this by my friends. Recently a girl was flirting with me, all harmless, I'd say she about 6, what annoyed me was her comment. I was teasing her and later on she goes there is a noticeable difference in our looks but she goes once she puts on the make up no one will be any the wiser. Then she added, you're not really losing your hair are you but if you do it will even it out  Now I know she was messing around but still it confirms a lot doesn't it?

Ah and my gf's sister reminding me that game of thrones is on again, more of her salivating over certain guys.

I know you don't want to discuss your hair transplant, but lets just say keep fighting! You don't want a premature end to the way you are living your life, do what it takes. I believe every person should follow their passion, live life how they want to man.

So true on being big. In fact I realised in my early 20's all most girls want is a slim firm body. Basically lowish body fat with some muscle.

Bro, I did small time modelling in my early 20' and as an under 5. Guess what? If I shave or even buzz, I look crap. My features look way too big. Shave makes everyone lose points so don't feel bad.

Trust me Im aware of spinal compression lol, I bought an inversion table a year ago.
Same here my features take a damaging hit without hair. I have a huge nose that with hair is kind of characteristic... without is just weird. Also my forehead just goes for ages.

I never went after 9s and 10s honestly, not my thing. But I Would never go for a 3 either. Im odd that way. I had the opportunity to model in my 20s a couple of times actually. Im almost glad I never did because that would have prob made this so much harder for me.

I will look the worst bald I'm pretty sure. I look pretty good with hair but even with a buzzcut I look like crap. My forehead is naturally too big and my dome is egg shaped. For some reason, my headshape got worse through puberty. I looked at pictures of myself in primary school sporting a buzzcut and I looked normal.

Maybe you still do look normal. Its about perception.
