If you lose hair to hyperandrogenicity can it grow back?

For instance, if finasteride causes reflex hyperandrogenicity and your DHT levels skyrocket causing a massive shed can it grow back once you seize the med provided your DHT levels return to normal or is the lost hair the same as if you lost it in normal male pattern baldness?

It's gone....experiencing hypo is no different than stepping into a timewarp in terms of damage done to your hair follicles. I know from personal experience on more than one occasion.

How come people say they quit the drug and begin regrowing hair?

Also, do you believe Propecia has this effect on a significant number of users?

How can DHT levels "skyrocket" when you're taking finasteride? :)

Seriously? You haven't read the stuff on hyperandrogenicity?

What's reflex hyperandrogenicity?

A: When the effects of androgens in the body are lessened, e.g. through lowering DHT or by systemic hormone receptor blockade, the body seeks equilibrium through a process called upregulation. This can take the form of increased hormone production and/or increased tissue sensitivity to the remaining hormones. The reason side effects usually gradually disappear with finasteride is probably due to such upregulation. In a small percentage of individuals, it may be that this process overshoots the mark, resulting in significant hyperandrogenicity. This is marked by such signs as greatly increased facial oil, increased pimples, and greatly elevated libido. It's possible that in certain cases such hyperandrogenicity overcomes the hair-protective effect of, say, finasteride, though this does not appear to be the case for the vast majority of people.

Nowhere in that paragraph did they make the claim that DHT "skyrockets" while taking finasteride, so I repeat the question I asked before: how can that happen? :)
