At your age you probably shouldnt start Finasteride, and certainly no Doctor would prescribe it for you. It would however probably stop it dead in its tracks right how. Maybe just try and ride it out until your around 20, assess whether its gotten worse (good idea to compare pictures) and then decide whether to get on meds or not. If you dont want to wait then you could start rogaine right now, be mindful however that when you start it, its for life (well until we find a cure anyway), you must be consistent with morning and evening applications to get results.

i would agree with indie85 in the sense of waiting to treat it,but only because i do not really see any hairloss, however i disagree with indie85 in that if you are certain it is male pattern baldness then start treatment now, also propecia will not stop it dead in its tracks may help slow it down a bit though

There are quite a few non-finasteride options:
1) minoxidil (many varieties)
2) nizoral
3) revivogen
4) spironolactone (probably won't work)
5) copper peptides (won't work either)

Finally, shave and get on with life....

Yea I'm not sure it's hairloss either, However you said you might just shave it and deal with it that way. Either way stay off the finasteride for at least another two years. I used it at 17 and had an uneasy experience with sides, which people of all ages get but I think the lasting effects can be worse if you use it before the recommended age. If You are convinced it's hairloss and do want to slow it down, like it's been said their are non finasteride options out there.

Rogaine foam and nizoral shampoo would be your best bet.
