I first became aware that my hair had receded when I was about 27. Since the it's gone back a little bit and started to thin around the front. Im probably between a 2A and a 3A on the norwood scale.

Anyway I've finally decided to try and do something and have bought some Finasteride tablets. My question is this worth taking and could it cause any irreversible problems? Basically my hairs receding fairly slowly and I don't want it to suddenly fall out!

Anyway advice would be appreciated!

Not even close to NW3 let alone 2, looks more like a Norwood 1.5. If you do take finasteride don't even bother taking the 1mg... you look like you don't even need any finasteride at all so just take a small dose or even microdose every 2-3 days so you don't get any sides or try the topical. Add at least 5,000 mcg(I take 10,000 and split it in half so I get better absorption, twice a day). Biotin daily to your regimen and Nizoral shampoo 2-3 times a week.

Finasteride is more useful for crown thinning/balding, of which you have none. You should be happy man!

Cheers, although it doesn't seem bad I've had a couple of comments made about it and looking up on the internet I hear loads of people saying how they'd wished they had started before it was too late.

I'll try the taking a lower dose of finasteride just to keep things as they are. Im just worried about all these stories of shedding that it could actually get worse

I have seen various approaches, some top hair transplant surgeons have even said that taking 1mg once per week(and after no side effects, once on monday and once on friday) is enough because the goal is to lower your DHT but not to decimate it entirely, other people have said that it would cause fluctuations but it takes about a week for 5-alpha reductase to start making DHT again.

Try cutting your 1mg tablets in fourths for 0.25mg and taking it every other day, or look at some of my other posts about microdosing if you're interested. Personally it looks like a slight recession and a "matured hairline" to me, because nearly no one keeps the same hairline they had in their teens into their 30s.

Good luck mate! and post an update here in 6 months as people would appreciate what happened hair wise, side effects wise, and what not.
