I'm 6 Months Into Finasteride And I'm Still Losing Over 150 Hairs In The Shower...what's Going On?

Today I lost over 150 hairs in the shower and I've been on Finasteride for over 6 months. I know that there is a shedding phase but I don't think its supposed to last for 6 months. I got on meds to maintain what I have and for early diffuse thinning. To most it looks like I don't have much hairloss, and hair looks pretty much the same as it did when I first started finasteride but I'm not 100% sure. I noticed a lot of the hairs were miniaturized though so idk what that means. What do you think is going on?

don’t listen to fools! Throw finasteride and dutasteride into the bin. Start taking 2 mg estradiol. Estradiol in the male body is responsible for hair growth.

This is a weird crusade you are on. You keep showing up in threads and challenging ppl to take estrogen. I'm not saying it doesnt work but finasteride did work for me and I would recommend it. There are other more important things to be angry about. I am curious about your preferred regimen but I dont think its cool to say everyone is dumb for not doing it.

estradiol hormone is responsible for hair growth in both men and women

Estradiol is only for pussies with pussy hair loss. Real men take hydrogencyanide. That will truly grow your hair!

idk man, its fucked, ive been on finasteride for 2 months and also didnt notice any difference at all
im scared to switch to dutasteride, because the possibility of sides rises exponentially
Two months and you're expecting a difference? Give it more time ffs.

I'm in the same boat. 4 and a half months on finasteride and my hair looks worse than ever. Still shedding a sh*t load of hair daily and my scalp is itching and tingling like mad

It took me almost 10 months before I noticed finasteride working. I had bad sheds leading up to it.

Did your hair get noticeably worse? (comparing good pics) Or only sheds?

Its really hard to tell but I had two big sheds and both times I had so much hair falling in probably thought it looked worse than it did. But looking back through photos which I took once a week, it all basically looks the same until it started looking better. I kept my hair very short through most of it because my hair looked so wispy and weak when it got longer. Right now my hair is the longest it's been in a while.

What about minoxidil? I am on minoxidil only, and my hair is still the same since 5 months. What was your experience with it?

the first 3-4-5 months are pure hell and you are going to regret every second -- man up and power through it. I wouldn't touch minoxidil until you know for a fact that you're a responder to finasteride

I started taking finasteride and minoxidil at the same time so I cant tell which made my shed worse and my hair better. But I guess the theory is that the cause of the shed is you are kinda jump starting your hair cycle and will get fuller hairs. I am sure there is a better way to explain that medically but I found that to be true for me because of my results.
