I'm New, new medications

Hello everybody, this is my first post. I am Tim, 24 years old and goin balled ;P, thats why I'm here, or should I say "gaining scalp". wow I'm sure all you guys heard that one be4 Anywhoo, I Have been hanging around this forum viewing posts for a while and decited to get on some medication. I went to my Doctor today and he put me in Finasteride 5MG. He said that was a generic to Propecia. Well, I thought Propecia was 1 mg? I'm kind of confused because I'm unsure if I'm takin the right stuff? Anyways. I also have been using Rogaine foam for 4 months so far and seen so so improvement. Just wanted to ask you guys about this Finasteride 5mg I'm takin tho. Thanks for your time, and nice meeting you guys!

Buy a pill cutter in a pharmacy and cut the pills in 4. Take 1/4 pill per day. 5 mg per day will increase your chances of side effects and not help your hair much more than 1.25 mg.

Thanks, will do, I hate cutting pills though, If I keep taking the 5mg will it still have the same effect as taking 1 mg or will 5 mg just reverse the products proprities and not do anything.I have to agree with ya on the sides im not to shabby about dealin with that

If 1.25 mg works for your hair loss, 5 mg will also work, but as I said, you will increase the chances of nasty side effects.

I like that. =) When I was a little, insensitive child, I would ask my grandfather why he was bald, he would tell me "grass doesn't grow on a busy street." I've always remembered that. =p
