But from what I've heard, even WITH finasteride one can maintain hair for only about a decade or so.

Without finasteride the maximum is even a shorter period of time. And without finasteride it is not guarranteed at all that the hair loss will be slowed down/stopped. Plus all the treatments(aside from finasteride) costs a fortune. That means spending a huge amount of money just to see if you can have ANY results.

I guess it's smarter to put all that money in gym and food. There is a guarrantee for pretty much everyone to get bulked up if they work out.

A few days ago I was upset, because no matter what I do, minoxidol .... , nothing seems to work. A family member was sitting next to me, asking why I was so upset, explained what was going on. She told me agh, it doesn't look that bad. So I showed her a picture on the Internet of a future me (women with severe Androgenetic Alopecia). All I got is, oh well, you have to get used to it, you gotta move on. People don't know until it bites THEM in their butt.

What kills me is when my sis give the proverbial "oh your still good looking".... "so and so thinks your really hot"

OH AWSOME cause "so and so" is an overweight 40+ year old..... LUCKY DAYS AHEAD!
Whats bad is she is the ONLY one in my family I find mildly tolerable so I can't outright be negative to her. Its nice knowing the only women who will dig you are now 10+ years older, overweight pigs with dike haircuts.

To the women here, arent you supposed to be NON shallow????? What you are saying by being here is "god I dont want a bald guy either". A woman can have a lesser attractive male counterpart and still be fine. Its almost normal and accepted. I mean are women supposed to be attracted to "personality"???? Men are physical. So in the end I might as well gouge my eyes out and burn the feeling off my fingertips if I ever want to have a sex life.
You being in this forum is showing us all you do NOT want to take a bald guy and you know that this is where you will have to head by losing your own hair.

I usually don't spend a lot of time in this section complaining about my hair loss. I try to stay positive and think "It's not that bad" or "things could be worse", but not today. I'm just getting tired of this hair loss s#it. I have been on treatments for close to a year and a half now, and I have had some regrowth. Currently I am in the process of trying to grow my hair out to see what I have to work with. There's a company party next week that I wanted to try to look half way decent at it, so I decided to grow my hair out and see if I could possibly sport a different hair style(not a buzz cut). Well let me tell you, with about a week to go, my hair couldn't look worse and I am just pissed. This f@#king blows! I used to be a pretty decent looking guy and for the past decade I have to deal with this garbage hairstyle that just makes me look like s#!t.

What was I thinking? As a diffuse NW3 with crown loss(I don't even care to look up if it's called a NW3a or v or whatever) what style could I have possibly pulled off that didn't make me look like a complete fool? What the hell was I really going to accomplish with the crap that I have on my head? Some type of comb over or messy style are pretty much my only options. It's just BS and it blows that I am dealing with this crap. I know there are guys that have it worse, but let me tell you the hair I have on my head isn't going to impress anybody. It is thin and looks like straight garbage.

Why not try a fade cut, grow out the top and straighten it (it will appear less wispy) and the sides can start at a 0 guard 1, 2 3 etc. This hairstyle does work. Add a tiny bit of toppik to the top and you should look half decent.
Also you can combine hair transplants now with body hair transplant as filler hair. There must be some hair on your body that mostly resembles head hair. You can get results if you really want them. Hopefully Replicel and Histogen are on the horizon additionally. Hang on in there.

Watte??? Im upset because I'm losing my femininity , my identity. I don't understand how you come up with not wanting a bald guy by being on this site. If I would lose my legs I would be on lostmylegs.com, because I'm upset of having lost my legs, has nothing to do with not wanting a guy without legs.
I'm mostly on this site, because I like to read up on histogen, replicel.... and about treatments/ things like swoop posted (the process of balding). Female hair loss sites talk mostly about wigs and they seem to not know as much about the whole process of balding as on this site. I'm a person with a brain that constantly likes to find solutions to problems, sadly this one is unsolvable, but I'm trying to educate myself to find better treatments that work for me.

well I'm married so I don't care about settling with a less attractive man or not. But if I would be single, yes it would bother me that I'm less attractive and I have to find a less attractive man, i think it bothers you do, doesn't it?

ok, Btw I always say how it is, its a though question since there are guys who are actually cuter without hair then with. It just comes down to the whole package. There are guys with hair who are ugly, and I wouldn't date.
But me, from a personal stand point, I don't mind guys with some receding, but I think if a guy goes behind Norwood 3 , it's less attractive to me (don't say I'm shallow, You asked the truth) But that said it depends on how the rest of his body looks, if he's fit and doesn't have a potbelly, it 's different. It's just like for you guys, you can see a girl with really nice thick hair, but if she's fat or she has a ugly face not that attractive. OR if there's a woman with thinning hair but she looks like angelina Jolie , body and face wise, you guys would not mind the hair, would you?

But this is what Ive always said. Men are just honest and up front where women like to portray a "I like his humor and personality" so they can just berate honest guys publicly. Low and behold though they rate men just like we do women..... or is it all guys doing the rating on hot or not?
