most the people on this site are here because minoxidil and finasteride are not working for them and they are trying to make the work or find another cure. a few are here because they feel a sense of perpose in life when they give advice to others. I'm not sure you will have a shed. if you rub the minoxidil in, any loose hairs in the scalp may fall out, especially with the minoxidil lubricating them. supposedly minoxidil diffuses 1/2 in all directions under the skin before hitting the blood vessels. So i doubt your whole scalp will be affected. minoxidil does not make anyone's hair worse. it just does not help 50% of men. propecia maintains hair counts in 83%, but this is huge compared to the placebo group. i sell alcohol at my part time job. I've carded many people whose hair has changed a lot in the last 2 years. maintaining is not a bad thing.

hmmmm, i havent lost one single hair when applying minoxidil and taking propecia for 1 month now. whats that about? i think my scalp must just be more healthy from my everyday shampooing.

I started shedding 9-10 days after I started applying minoxidil. Now its been 41 days and I am still shedding. I shed from everywhere, even sides and behind which are not male pattern baldness susceptible.

But as many people here point out and have proven that shedding may be good.

i used to lose LOADS of hairs styling my inch 1/2 long hair, and washing twice a week.

since seeing my derm and washing everyday and my hairs half inch at mo, i dont lose hairs!! must be coz my scalp is getting more and more healthy.
