I've been on finasteride for well over a year and have seen positive results. However, my prescription ran out about a week ago and when I called my derm they said I hadn't visited in over a year so I needed to get a referral again, and that appointments were being made near the end of November, beginning of December. I don't want to disrupt the success I have been having so far while on it, do you think the doctor that referred me to him will write me the prescription ? Can I get it anywhere else ? I live in Toronto by the way.

if you go to your pharmacy, you may be able to have your pharmacy fax your doctor to give the ok on the renewal, without a visit.

Which hair transplant doctor did you go to and where was it located ? Also, how long did it take to get an appointment, was there any hassle in getting the prescription ?
Thanks !

http://www.drcotterill.com this is his website. The office was downtown. It took about a month but that was because he was on vacation. No hassle at all, he assessed my hair and asked me what I wanted to do. gave a prescription for a year and half so I could come back in that time and see how my hair is.

I had similar situation, was off finasteride for a week after being on for a year and now I am having quite a shed right now. Anything similar happened to you as well?

Ive missed many weeks due to running out of medicine or taking a week off and nothing drastic has really happened. I went to a walk-in and got prescribed Prosper, as the doctor said it would be cheaper and that Propecia is a rip off, haha
