Increased Facial Hair Growth

I've noticed that minoxidil (or something) has increased my already thick beard. I don't shave for a week, have a definitive beard, then shave, and I already seem to have that Homer Simpson 5 o'clock shadow thing. Instantaneously. Also, I noticed that my whole Mach 3 with the vibrating handle doesn't deliver that close a shave, even with tons of strokes.

This all sounds very gay, I realize that. Thank you.

Does anyone know the best shaving delivery method. Would one of those old-fashioned single blade jobs work best in getting a close shave?

Never used the Mach 3 but the vibrating thing just sounds like a gimmick to me.

I use the Gillette disposables with three blades (can't remeber the name)
and they shave very close.

I got rid of it and got 40 disposable gillete razors with a swivel head and gel strip on it for 15 dollars at costco and it does the same job for a lot cheaper.

Try IPL, it's about £250 a session and hurts like hell, but after a year or so of treatment you'll never need to shave again!

No it makes a difference. You can easily check buy rubbing it on the palm of your hand off and on. There is a lot less friction when it's turned on. The downside is that i noticed it cuts my chin a lot easier when it's on.

I noticed the same thing way back when I first started using minoxidil (and back then it was even the 2% stuff) that by 11:00 am - my 5:00 shadow was already evident.

The good news is - it doesn't seem to get any worse after that initial thickening.

What I do is shave w/ an electric razor - and then run a dry disposable blade across my face afterwards.

On those days when I have to look extra special clean shaven - I shave w/ my electric and then lather up and then use a disposable blade.

for us non-americans: 5 o'clock shadow? is it a shadow which appears at 5 p.m. after morning shave?

yes that is it...

When one shaves in the morning say around 8am... then later that day (around 5 6 or 7) notices some beard growth
