Increased Hair Fall - Minoxidil Losing Effectiveness?

Hi Guys,

Over the last few months I've noticed a significant increase in hair fall.
I'm now losing upwards of 50 hairs a day, all of which are much thinner and less darkly coloured than the hair I am used to using. Many are incredibly fine, curly or crimped, and translucent.

Is this a sign that the minoxidil is losing effectiveness.
Are these hairs a sign of miniaturising follicles, or something else?
I'm curious, as not everyone who is losing their hair describes these changes to the condition of the hair itself.

Thanks!

Difficult to answer this question without knowing how long you have been using it?
I don't think minoxidil loses it's effectiveness.
I have been using it since 2007 and there have been months where I have constantly loss hair, but then it gets better again.
Hair growth is phasic in nature.
Minoxidil attempts to normalise the growth phases of all hairs so when it comes out while on minoxidil, it sheds in bulk. And then grows back in bulk.
