Incredible results after dropping Minoxidil/FInasteride

Hi All,

I have'nt been here for a while. Just taking time off from my studies and work to update everyone on my progress...

Essentially, had nothing positive to report for years now. Started with saw palmetto, then minoxidil and then finasteride. finasteride and min combination gave a major shed.

Minoxidil would grow back the hairs thicker but then every month massive shedding caused me to quit both (was on it for 1.5 yrs). Could not handle minoxidil sides and finasteride was'nt doing anything for me.

For the last 2 yrs have been on/off finasteride having completely ceased Minoxidil.

Last October- Novemeber I stopped finasteride and started with Spectral nanoxidil. Up until last month Nanoxidil caused the hair to thicken gradually. The thickening happened very very slowly.

Then last month I started using derma roller (cheap one from ebay). Also re-started tricomin copper peptide treatment. A combination of these 3 has resulted in me getting amazing thickness (no regrwoth yet). So incredibly good that the thickness is sufficent to cover my entire scalp. Remember I had diffused hairloss (i blame it on finasteride). I can compare the thickness to my minoxidil days...but whats good is zero side effects.

I use derma roller 3 times a week. Straight after usinng it I spray tricomin(this bottle was purchased more than a year ago). This causes the whle scalp tp burn like hell!!!. But i feel the tingling/burning does something positive. Then after a couple of hours I use nanoxidil.

P.S- I also use hairactive product along my hairline but I don't think its doing anything as yet and its soooo damn expensive...

Hmm.

Let me first say that I'm highly suspicious of anyone that complains of 'minoxidil sides', as I really think that reeks of paranoia, which tends to throw doubt over everything else they say for me.

I'm also dubious of the 'regular minoxidil shed phenomenon' and often suspect this is simply caused by people not being able to apply minoxidil as well once their hair has thickened up (perhaps combined with laziness when their hair is looking good). Hair gets thick -> shed, hair gets thick -> shed. Posters like IrishPride illustrate this idea really well and I believe Irish has since been able to stabilise his minoxidil results by using his rogaine foam like a liquid (by melting it in the cap), so it gets to his scalp when his hair is thick.

On your improvement since dropping finasteride, if that's true (sorry we can't always take a poster at face-value here), then my first guess would be that your hairloss to begin with could not have been that serious, and that you had some kind of rare adverse reaction to finasteride, which you've now recovered from.

You're saying nanoxidil has caused thickening (but not regrowth) back to the level it was at when you just used minoxidil. That's not suprising as most of us suspect nanoxidil is just regular 5% minoxidil with a heavy dose of DS labs lovely marketing/branding.

I can say one thing for sure, there is no way Tricomin is doing anything.

Anyway glad you're doing better but I'm not sure I can really believe your assessment of what-caused-what, and would suggest other readers take this account with a huge pinch of salt. :)

i was on finasteride for almost 2 years and saw minimal results. i then quit fnisteride and started using minoxidil and a laster comb and my results are amazing. my bald spots are all but gone and even with short hair my one thin spot is looking really good. if this keeps up i will make a 100% recovery i would say i am at least 80% of the way there. huge increase in hair growth after stopping finasteride and adding the laser comb.

I don't understand? how the laser comb helps the regrowth of the hair?

Yeah I simply don't believe that.

Minoxidil could make a significant difference though sure, but the laser comb? No.

Also again, as I suggested with the other poster the only way you could possibly drop finasteride and retain a good amount of hair is if your hairloss wasn't very serious to begin with. I mean, maybe minoxidil could compensate in the short term, but long term, if you had real Androgenetic Alopecia and you're only using minoxidil + laser comb, you're going to go bald. :/

People reporting minoxidil sides is not "paranoia". Just google search and you'll find not all people can handle minoxidil. Sides i got were dark circles under eyes, wrinkled skin which I ignored for more than a year but when the headaches started getting worse and would doze off at work after getting 10 hrs of sleep, I just dumped the crap in the bin.

Analysed what I could have been doing wrong as there were a lot of people using it and not reporting sides. The only thing I could think of was occassionaly I would apply it to a damp scalp (soon after shower). After 2 month restarted minoxidil liquid application on dry scalp....a few weeks later same sides appeared. Quit and tried rogaine foam....same sides from Day 1....CONCLUSION I am allergic to MINOXIDIL

I tried Sinere Nanominox FMS....no sides at all but did get any results.

Its ok to be "suspicious" of people complaining of "minoxidil sides"....cause then again I am suspicious of a member who takes 100mg of spironolactone and has no harmful sides....Hahaa

P.S- I agree tricomin does not do much for hair growht, i am just using it as it was sitting on myshelf for more than a year...

no lies i also take biotin d3 veggie and fruit extracts and saw palmetto and soy isoflavone extract but other than that minoxidil + laser comb is giving great results. NOTE i do use the laser comb for about 30 mins 3 times a week instead of the reccomended 11 mins 3 times a week. but no joke replacing propecia/finasteride with the laser comb was the best thing ive ever done. also i have a friend that goes to the laser clinics instead of using the at home laser comb and his results are f*****g crazy this guy was almost bald and now he isnt no other way to say it except saying he has gotten great results. however we are both young. i am only 24 and caught my hairloss at an early age but it seemed kinda severe for like the first 2 years.

Low Level laser Treatment works at cellular and follicular level. The small amount of heat created with the Laser expands the follicle and the capillaries out to around 4X their normal size for a short period of time. Thus allowing the more dense DHT to be moved through the capillaries to the follicle and eventually expelled.

i didnt take pics when i was goin bald to document... all my pics in public have me wearing a hat or covering it up. but hair above my temples was gone on the front half of my head was gone except in the center. again sry no pics but look up more on the laser comb its one of the only FDA approved treatements for hairloss and has zero side effects.
