Hey guys,
Since I now consider myself a regular around here, I feel a little bit more comfortable discussing personal details.
I am in a band who tours regularly. I've been very slowly thinning and receding at the temples since about 20 (now 24).
Throughout the summer of '05 I was on tour constantly. While on tour, I ate sickening amounts of fast food, barely slept, drank copiously every evening, dabbled in narcotics here and there smoked at least 1 pack of cigs per day, and was unable to consistently shower every day. To be blunt, I beat the sh*t out of my body.
In early September '05, we came home and I've been home every since (recording an album, break from touring). By mid september I noticed my hair had taken a fairly drastic turn for the worse and I became increasingly depressed.
Long story short, I found this website, began researching religiously, got on the big 3 in mid-november, THOROUGHLY changed my diet to a MUCh healthier one, got on a great supplemental nutrition regimen, all in the hopes of reversing my hairloss.
I have a feeling that general health and diet play a fairly large role in the rate and severity of male pattern baldness. I haven't notice my hair get any better since implementing these changes, perhaps its gotten slightly worse, but I'm hoping to see some progress in the next few months, considering I'm hitting my hairloss from many angles.
My question is has anyone else had a similar period of malnutrition followed by a drastic decrease in hair quality?
Oh yeah, please don't ask what band i'm in, trust me we are not well known (but are on our way hopefully, hehe). I'd really prefer to keep my anonymity intact.
thanks for reading, brothers.
