Is 1.25mg vs 1mg of finasteride just a way of convenience...

Convenience :)

The difference in the type II 5ar inhibition between 1mg and 1.25mg is extremely small and, IMO, insignificant.

If you can manage to cut Proscar into 1/5ths w/o losing too much in dust then the 1/5th is the way to go as it saves you even more money.

Yep – it’s basically convenience as 0.25mg more of finasteride per day would only give you marginally better results if any.

I just do it because I can afford it, have no sides and can’t be f*cked cutting my Proscar up into 5ths!!

Pill cutters work great if you want to cut into 4ths.

After ordering the 5mg pills online from India (which brings up the next question: Is purity a concern?), which is pretty cheap, I don't think it's much of a cost factor to go with 1/4ths instead of 1/5ths, but is there any problem with taking 1.25mgs per day?

I know guys with prostate problems take the whole 5mgs per day, but if I may be taking this for years and years is there any downside to a higher dosage? I don't have any side effects (in fact it might serve me well if my libido was a little more under control), but I've read some conflicting reports about what this stuff does for future chances the more deadly forms of prostate cancer.
