Is 2,5mg finasteride too much?

Hey guys.

At the moment I'm cutting my 5mg finasteride in four so I get 1,25 mg. everyday. I don't know, but I don't feel it's enough, and - weird I know - I'm concerned not to have ANY side effects at all. The first week on finasteride (was fincar 1mg.) gave me side effects, but after changing to 1,25mg Actavis Finasteride I had no side effects at all.

I don't know if it's normal or not. I'm not wishing to have side effects, but at the same time I just want a slightly sign that the pills works (other that my hair to be better, but I think it goes downhill at the moment tbh).

In short: will it be stupid to increase the dose to 2,5mg finasteride?

I would go with 1.25 MG. Not sure more is better with finasteride.

Ok it's been 4 week since im on 1mg.
the First three week my libido was double and then boom it hitted the ground.
I'd say wait and see instead of going straight up to 2.5 mg.

There's very little difference in terms of DHT inhibition between 1.25 and 2.5 mg, it'll mean you need to buy twice as much proscar. Maybe your body adjusted to the lower DHT levels and the side effect just subsided? It doesn't mean the drug has stpooed working. I have no sides, but finasteride (and minoxidil) are working for me just fine.

Yeah, but the situation is this: I was on 1mg. fincar for a year. I had great results I think, but because the website 'Generic4all' closed, I had to find another brand to buy. So I finally took the time to get a prescription from the doctor who subscribed me 5mg. Actavis Finasteride. Since then (been on this since august now) I had no side effects at all. As I said I cut the pills in four, so I get 1.25mg.. but I just have the feeling that it's not enough.

The price is really really cheap on generic prescription drugs from the doctor, so buying Actavis Finasteride a bit more often wouldn't hurt economically. I just want to be sure it works.

A part of me is a bit sceptic for the brand Actavis. It should be legit and all, and it's from the doctor.. but I don't know. My libido has never been better since I got on finasteride, and normally your hear a lot of scary stories about the loss of libido, but mine is just the opposite?

I wouldn't play around with the dosage if I were you, as someone else mentioned above there is no difference in DHT inhibition between 1.25 and 2.5 mg. finasteride is a flat dose response drug. I know you can get over ambitious and think you can gain more (i have been there) but it is not worth it. Look in to other ways of adding to your routine instead
