just started .5mg recently.
when i started losing my hair my identical twin jumped on finasteride (he had minimal loss) his hair hasnt lost any ground and he took stuff like adderral (and abused it) and hasnt lost ground. adderall has been linked to aggravating male pattern baldness. keep in mind he puts himsepf throigh a lot of hair loss factors being kind of nuts and all and it works for him. unfortunately i lost some hair (thinning no complete bald spots yet aside from temples). being that hes my identical twin i would think that it should regrow some hair considering all of the additional factors he forces upon himself. does that make any sense?Yes? No? Completely depends on how you respond to it.
How do you know though you wouldn't have had that "notable setback" even with 1 mg? Sometimes a male pattern baldness hit will come no matter what and now it's all gone quiet, regardless of dose. Particularly at the front these male pattern baldness hits can be effective even with medication.
I agree I am just out of my 20s and have less aggressive genetics. But when I was 24 I went from Norwood 1 to 2.5 very quickly. Over the next 5 years nothing happened despite no treatment. If I was Minoxidil or finasteride I would think it was maintaining for 5 years lol. See my point?
It's best to take the approved dose for sure but there really is not much difference between 0.25 and 1 mg. There was a clinical trial which showed serum DHT over time was not that different. Trials are more important than personal experience I feel.
Yes I can't see myself losing any ground on finasteride for a long time. I've had my top checked under a microscope and most hasn't shown DHT sensitivity still. finasteride I am taking as a precaution but I reckon I could just get transplants if I needed to like the Norwood 3 area. Older guys do respond the best according to the finasteride trial.
