Is Finasteride a lifelong commitment?

I am going to the dermatologist tomorrow to see about my options and I have been researching on here about Finasteride and people either love it or hate it. Yet, my questions are is it a lifelong commitment meaning if I get on it, my hairloss will increase ten-fold or if I grow back what I think is an adequate amount of hair near the temples could I get off it or not?

Well, I dunno about that, I think we will have something better then propecia within 10-20 years, which isn't a lifetime.

If something better did come along and worked through a different mechanism then dht inhibition like propecia then most likely you would need to keep propecia so really short of another dht inhibitor its propecia for life.

6 to 8 years. Probably after that finasteride wont work as it should.
